it isn't necessarily the case that 'facts will come-out in dribs and drabs' Dave. I can think of a few instances over the last few years of incidents that I have been told about 4th / 5th hand (so never anywhere near 100% of the full story!) of fairly contraversial things from Plainmoor or Sid James Park.. Some of those were pretty salacious (especially the Roberts or Alex Inglethorpe related ones!!) but I never saw mention of them in the public domain.
What I'm saying is that maybe the Sponsor has been advised by his legal people to not say anything at this time (or maybe feels it is something he wants to maintain a silence) and the club are not wanting to talk about this either. I respect their positions - hopefully there is a way in the future that both parties can work together on long-term beneficial projects if circumstances change in the future? Whilst I respect the rights of people to talk about this situation on these boards, maybe things 'coming-out in the open' while perhaps tensions are running high would make the chance of this partnership working again in the future simply even more unlikely. . . . . . . .
Clearly there are people 'in the know' (not me though!) who are very disappointed by the conduct of someone at the club. I hope that this is resolved one way or another, but I suspect that the details will never be publically confirmed.

Enough of this innuendo and cloak and dagger stuff. Question now is, do we still want Colin Lee at the club ?, if not then how do we get such an influential person moved on without causing a messy battle both privately and in the court system. Simple really.

ohtobeatplainmoor I think If you read a post by Sean's daughter on this thread, you will learn that one side wants a full statement to be made by the club.
One thing I did say that the people Involved were both strong people and It would be my view that patching things up, would not really be an option. Like everyone I would be happy If a way could be found to keep Sean continuing to help the club and Louise also said In another post that they would do that.
It really Is in the hands Of the club to put effort Into finding the best way forward and as they say, Its good to talk.

So you should tufc01, that Is the only thing you can do and I fully respect your views and position On this. You must understand that when you know something It enables you to make more informed judgments, I wish everyone could know, not that I would ever say I told you so. If Sean wants to talk but can't and the club could talk but won't, what would you think the reasons could be. Do you really think Sean would have ever wanted to end his sponsorship? this guy, not liked by some, was so proud to be able to do this, do you think, It was just something someone said, that just upset him? No, sadly Its bigger and much worse than that, so ask yourself just why he has taken this action. It just seems odd that when reportedly told by a lawyer to keep quiet about the affair he, or someone close to him, has 2 long telephone calls with the host of the Torquay Fans Forum spilling the beans!

I have had many phone calls with Sean and there Is a difference between going public with a story and telling It to some people, I have put nothing Of what I know on the forum.Do you not think that after the statement put on .com, the one that could have been taken the wrong way, by those who read It, that just maybe Sean, as a member only Of this forum, wanted me to know the facts, to help stop any untruths Or lies being written about him Or City Link Builders. I would state that this Is my view only as to why he told me and he did not give any reason, like I said we often talk on the phone.
He has not asked for anything to be written on here by me, nor asked for any favors etc, he simply I suspect wanted the forum to know the facts, we do and unless we were to hear anything to suggest that It Is not as It has been told to us, then we will continue to support Sean.
All the members views that have been written about this , have remained In full on this thread, the forum has not tried to steer anyone In anyway, just tried to let you know and be aware that this Is not just a simple falling out and not as It could be seen, by the limited information that Is out In the public.

I met a cage-fighting, knuckle-duster carrying psychopath last night. He's also a member of a certain motorcycle club. We're now mates (after he dripped blood on me and bought me a pint). Now that's a man not to fall out with! Now Dave, he's a strong (and very very big*) person. For a fee he will knock some sense in to the situation. Shall I ask him?
*I'm six foot (well, very nearly), 14 stone and have done some fun and games in my time but unless I was in possession of two fully-trained pitbulls I wouldn't take him on! I think I'm still shaking.
Is this off-topic? Well it's better than me idly speculating and inviting libel suits. A donkey, two nuns and a Prince Albert! No! Never? Well, I say!

Agree with Dave. Kick 'em in the nadgers and run like hell! They'll never catch you. The steroid boys can only waddle like they've shat themselves and big 'uns like Brett take 3 minutes to sort their legs out before setting off (like horses really - you'll always beat a horse at the standing start it's just that he'll mow you down 10 yards later).

Just been re reading this thread and one thing that has got me questioning things in my head is this:
Why has Sean been gagged by his lawyer?
It has been implied on this thread that Sean has done nothing wrong, other than fall out with an employee, and as a result has withdrawn his sponsorship of the youth team. The situation is a bad one for the youth team, however cannot be THAT bad, as CityLink are still sponsoring the shirts. If Sean had been that aggrieved surely there would have been some way of pulling the shirt sponsorship too. Obviously there are many people who are supporters of TUFC that don't read any of the Torquay United sites, and get their information from the Herald Express/on the TV. All the information they have had is that of the fact that CLB have withdrawn the sponsorship of the youth team, and that they are not in financial difficulty. They will be having the same questions that we are all debating here and, with neither party releasing any further information, wrong conclusions are being formed.
Yes, I know that maybe it is in the best interests of the parties to not release the full details, but surely something can be released, maybe in the form of a joint statement in order to protect the public image of BOTH companies. Can TUFC AFFORD to be seen in this light by other potential sponsors? My guess is no, and therefore information needs to released.
I wont, however, hold my breath!!

Scott, maybe Sean or Louise will post and explain why they are Not able to make any statements at this time.I would expect that having to change the shirt sponsor In season would be very costly. Firstly you would have to find a new sponsor, who would then want His name On the kit.
So a new kit would have to made with all the costs and problems that would cause. As the shirt deal Is only for one year I would suggest that It was decided best just to continue with It until the end Of the season.
I'm sure the club will want to find away that the story does not come out and might be talking with Sean, to try and find a way forward. The day will come when even If the club never makes any statement that these events will be public knowledge.Until then sadly most will have to just keep guessing.

Why has Sean been gagged by his lawyer? Possibly because he would be ill-advised to complain publicly of wrongdoing by an individual unless he had incontrovertible evidence as he would lay himself open to legal action for libel or slander.
