Better get there early as I'm sure all the fans that turned up for the Cov match will be there again!

Having a wee joke there arent you? Come around 7pm and temperatures dropping you will find loads will decide a warm night in will be the right choice and it will be a case of just the diehards turning up.
Crowd will certainly be under 2000.

Tongue was very firmly in cheek! 1400 would be my guess which would be quite frankly, pathetic.

Game is now OFF due to concerns of getting Weymouth (players? fans?) getting to and from the game!!

If the game is off then I'm not to unhappy, been stuck in Holsworthy for most of the morning due to deep snow and still have to go to many towns still, should be on my way home by now, but it's going to get dark before that happens ;D I would not have made the game tonight because of the weather problems, so thats the only reason I'm not to sad about it.

....this country is so pathetic in cold weather A look at the weather forecast tonight in ours and Weymouths areas shows the odd shower of snow/sleet and temps of +4/5 degrees.....between the times of 7pm and midnight. Ridiculous to call it off in my opinion.

England is pathetic for so many reasons jm not just because they can't cope with a bit of dodgy weather.

To be fair Dave Shaw we don`t get bad enough weather to justify the expense of dealing with this situation that often, so it`s easy to see and understand why this happens. Countries in northern Europe and Scandinavia have to deal with it regularly so have the infrastructure in place, in my opinion it`s a no-brainer, we either put up with it or pay alot more in tax!

Nice try aussie. Not gonna get drawn into the overtaxed, too expensive, nanny state, politically correct, sun reading, neo-nazi britain argument. But all is ok because Come Dancing with the Z list on ice is on tonight.

I am sure that I am not the only person who is seriously annoyed at this totally unjustified postponement.
Firstly, it has nothing to do with Torquay United and I do hope that the Club take some action against the League!
Since when does the potential inconvience for away supporters decide if a game is played? (how many coaches were booked, I wonder!). Did anyone from the League speak with the Met Office and the Police? Is Weymouth really going to be "shut down" tonight because of concerns that the roads might freeze? (the lowest forecast temperature that I can find for the Weymouth area is +4 C - I always thought that ice needed about zero degrees to form).
Our Club will have lost a lot of money tonight - stewards booked, bar staff booked, food booked etc. etc.
We, the fans, have been seriously inconvenienced.
Our Club made a real effort to get the game on and I hope that they go on the PR offensive to show what we are up against - a real professional club mixing with a bunch of amateur administrators.
By the way, if the Police really did made the decision - proof please!

Not being funny or anything Dave Shaw but a little less medication mate might go along way, talk about delusional. So it snows here in South Devon that much you can justify the expense of tyre chains can you? Well the same expense factor comes into play at a higher level, ever heard of budgeting! The average Joe Public doesn`t want the council tax to go up, it`s too fucken high already for the little it does!

While I can understand peoples disappointment that the game tonight has been cancelled, I really do think it is the right thing to do. I know they are costs and money will be lost, but as someone who has been in some very dangerous situations on the roads today, then I agree that the game should be called off.
The local news has shown it will be -4 here tonight and that there is going to be a serious Ice problem on our roads and all I heard on the news was very good advice to keep off the roads tonight.
Its not just about fans from Weymouth, we would have had fans from outside Torbay making their way to Plainmoor, I would much rather feel happy that those fans will now not be at risk from a major road accident, than want to hear about it on the radio tomorrow.
I live on the roads and I can tell you while things may not have been to bad where you were, up in North Devon driving was as dangerous as I have even known, I lost count of how many smashed up cars I saw.I battled for hours to keep my van on the road and nearly went thought the Pine Shop front window in Bideford.
With all the talk about people should not travel on the roads tonight, just what sort of gate do you think we would have got anyway and sorry if you do not agree, but there is more to life than a football match and keeping people safe, is in my book one that is far more important.
The A35 has already been closed tonight, due to ice, this caused by the melting snow that has now frozen and so many other roads will soon be freezing over and will not be safe to drive on.
The game will be played on another night, one that will be much safer for fans to travel too and one that will see a much bigger gate than tonights game would have got.
