The point is Exeter traveled to a game where the pitch was unfit on the Friday and failed another inspection on the Saturday morning, who is to say the Barrow pitch could not have been fit by the time the game was due to be played.

It was deemed unsafe to be on the roads here late on Tuesday night, can't you get it into your head that the safety of players,managers and fans need to be considered and believe me, their safety is more important than a game being delayed by just one week.  Late on Tuesday night relates to going HOME not turning up, I couldn't give a shit what happens to them if they opt to "travel back in danger" rather than treat their players more professionally with an overnight stay.........................but hey, they hadn't even paid them for January had they! Unfit to play professional football! |

I see you have still not put your hand up and admitted you got it wrong about the Grimsby pitch, I will say again Exeter traveled on the Friday to Grimsby and at that time the pitch was unfit
the Grimsby pitch faced an early-morning inspection on Saturday due to a heavy frost and sub-zero temperatures. The initial one at around 8am on Saturday saw the pitch deemed unplayable, but the sterling efforts of the Grimsby groundstaff ensured it passed a second look at around 11.30am.
So tell me what the difference is with TUFC not going to Barrow.

Due to the Plainmoor pitch being waterlogged, a pitch inspection will take place on Tuesday, I do hope we let Weymouth know in plenty of time  |

Pitch passed fit for playing followed by Weymouth crying off an hour later - flooded roads, coach company says "all the engines are flooded" etc etc.  |

Phil, you have such little faith mate, if the pitch is fit to play on Weymouth will turn up, I would put money on it, I would not put any on the horses that old merse picks mind you.  |

Hopefully the game is on tomorrow. At the moment Burton are 2-0 up against R&D and 22 points clear of us. We've got 4 games in hand. Keep the faith! ;D

I'm glad its your final comment as your whole argument has been biased only toward our club and you have failed to really prove that Weymouth have been guilty of anything.
I could not find your quote from the 6th, but I will quote one more piece from the Monday article.
Personally, I think the Football League showed a complete disregard for the safety of thousands of people, especially those who made the journey from Exeter. The police's advice to "only travel if you really have to" was completely ignored, the Football League also not taking into account the Exeter party having to return to Devon at a time when temperatures again plummeted below zero and there were warnings of dangerous driving conditions.
So why were Exeter not staying in a hotel? but the last line has made the point I was making and that is some things are more important than a game of football. and they meant the safety of the Exeter party and their fans.
I really fail to understand why you want to rubbish Weyouth F.C yes the club has problems but these have been made by two owners in its history and the club has never in my view been some bad apple ever before.
One owner spent far to much money on players, this was a gamble based on the ground being sold to a supermarket. The one who owns it now is having nothing to do with the club, he only ever wanted to sell the land and had no interest in Weymouth FC.
Maybe you just want to forget about Roberts, but while you have to try and use the fact that Weymouth has not paid its players for January, to try and rubbish the club even further,you should wake up and see that if Roberts had been in power for just a little longer, then our players would not have been paid.
Roberts lost the club thousands and put the club in debt and to think you argued in the begining how good he would be for our club. No good trying to make out you just liked his plans, because you were shouting down anyone who said he was bad news for our club.
That really is not important now, the fact is that our club could have ended up where Weymouth now finds itself , we got Lucky and had good men with money who came in and rescued the club, sadly Weymouth do not have such men around.
It does have a group who could take it over, it would have to go part time, but the current owner won't underwrite the debts and the group fear they will end up finding far to late in the day, that the debts are far beyond what they will be able to clear. Maybe thats also the reason for the accounts not being properly available this week to those now interested in talking the club over.
You really need to look at the club as a whole, its fans, the man who paints the lines, the tea lady, the gate-men, these are the real Weymouth FC and not some owner now, who has dragged the club down. I bet if things had not got sorted at TUFC, you would have been defending our club and saying how bad it was Roberts ruined it, well if you did that then you would be admitting it was just one man and not TUFC the club. That is the point really here Merse and one that you simply can't seem to grasp.

With Garry Hill resigning at Rushden, perhaps it's the case that his brother is at the stage where he is going to buy Weymouth now.
That said, R and D have been big under-achieving over-investors this year. Dare I say, he had more resources at his disposal close season than even Bucks had!!
