Argyle unveiled their sponsor free shirt yesterday, while taking orders for it's purchase. LINK - Argyle Kit 2016/17Everyone wants their team's new shirt to wear on holiday, and I certainly don't want to be walking around Frinton in mid-July in last seasons top. There'll have to be some indication of what's happening soon I'd have thought. Hopefully we can go one better than The Pilgrims, by providing a long sleeved option for our elderly fans who need to keep their arms warm.

If there wasn't any yellow in the shirt and no sponsors name on the front, (look at the difference on that Plymouth shirt without a sponsors name splodged all over the front) i'd actually buy one!

In the absence of any news regarding our kit for 2016/17, here's another new sponsorless shirt that's making an appearance down the road. It clearly takes it's inspiration from the kit Argyle used to wear when I was a kid. But of course, the old style central band with club crest would negate, or at best detract, from a sponsors wording these days. Whereas the new stlye bigger plain green area will only help highlight a sponsors name (when one eventually turns up). If football was just starting now in these commercialised days, it's probably safe to say that the striped football shirt would never see the light of day. For reasons of tradition and heritage a number of clubs have to keep them going, as the outcry from their supporters would be too great to allow them to be binned for good. But you can bet that their commercial departments wish they could be ditched. Let's sincerely hope that the new Torquay shirt overcomes it's shyness soon and reveals itself. Otherwise I might just have to show Cap'n Manse modelling the new Bristol Rovers shirt.....and we know how well that would go down Stateside

link - the trio yet to sign still have the option - alternatives lined up but maybe not better. Probably half a dozen players required.

This sounds a little bit like desperation to me. The ones we have signed already are fine, but I doubt there is a lot left in the pot for the next ones coming in.

I don't know what is doing my head in more, this bloody ownership situation or the bloody referendum, I'll be glad when their both resolved, which ever way it goes!

I see Ajala has joined Gateshead and that is always the risk with a low budget although many would not want to see us push out the boat for a player that was well under par during his second spell here.

Ajala always put in a shift whenever he wore our shirt, so I'd imagine he'd always get a warm welcome on future visits to Plainmoor. During his first spell with us he could certainly be exciting to watch. When in possession of the ball his ability seemed to be a League higher, but when he came to release the ball, either via a cross or a pass, his ability in that aspect of the game seemed to be a League lower. When he came back to us last season some of the exciting unpredictability of his dribbling seemed to have gone, and neither had his distribution improved noticeably. Toby was a strange mixture of talents, but his commendable workrate fo the team was always at a consistently high level. On balance, a move to pastures new is probably best all round, with him telling the Gateshead site today: "Last season was a strange one for me, and while I could have stayed at Torquay, I wanted to move on and enjoy my football again".
I hope the move works out for him. Being stuck in Gateshead and not enjoying your football wouldn't bear thinking about.

Lathaniel Rowe-Turner coming back according to another forum. No problem with that - signals exit of Butler no doubt (? to Exeter) but could be part of a powerful back four. Seeds of good news too about Seale Hayne and shirt sponsor. We are starting to look like a proper football club again. Could be base for optimism perhaps for 2016/17?

I wonder whether we will see any more players between now and the Stoke Gabriel PSF?

I'm feeling not. Then some late loanees as the season looms and availability is more clear. Any thoughts on shirt sponsorship - quite like it, unusual. And a fan owner.

Just when will our spliffing...oops, I meant spiffing new shirts be out ? With the 420 Skateshop logo across the front. A bit of impatience is understandable, but actually I've come to realise that's it's probably a good sign that they've not been rushed into production. I'm sure it's only because Dave Phillips is taking time to ensure that the new shirts are absolutely top notch quality, that it's taking a little extra time. In fact I read something similar today, concerning another club. Sheffield Wednesday will not unveil their new kits for next season until chairman Dejphon Chansiri is fully satisfied with the designs.
With less than six weeks to go until the start of the new campaign, Wednesday have yet to reveal the new designs nor announce a launch date for the shirts.
It is understood Chansiri has been unhappy with the quality of samples provided by current kit manufacturers Sondico and has requested redesigns.
And he will continue to refuse to sign off on the new kits until fully satisfied.
A slightly altered version of Wednesday’s new club crest has been released.
The owl has been made larger and given a wide-eyed look in the redesign. link: Wide Eyed OwlsNow from what the Herald Express is reporting on today, we'd be anything but wide eye'd after a couple of sniffs of our new sponsor's logo. The new kit, and especially the striped away shirt, will hopefully be well worth waiting for, not to mention very popular on the Rave scene.
