As I said on the transfer window thread, im not that sure we actually need him. Morris looks to be coming into form with full fitness and looks a more complete player if you ask me. If they're after an unrealistic fee for someone that rarely makes the matchday squad, I would say forget him. He scored some nice goals but then again, so will Morris now I reckon.

I was thinking that myself about Morris. No doubt De Canio will have put a ridiculous price on the head of Bodin in a bid to get back some of the ridiculous money he has spent on players! Bodin might not interest many clubs at present though, so wouldn't be surprised to see him back on loan with us!

I agree that Morris looks like he can do a job there and if purchased, Bodin would be very expensive cover so from our point of view, a loan would be the only way forward for this season.
However, Bodin is out of contract come the end of the season although would still be entitled to compensation if offered a contract by Swindon. If you rate him on a par with Carayol, I think £35,000 was agreed in staged payments so adjust your valuation accordingly. I know we haven't got much money to spend but it would be good to invest in him for the long term if the opportunity arose as our preferred formation needs that sort of winger able to get forward and score goals.

I don't thing that De Canio will permit Billy to come back on loan to us as we are now their play off rivals, & have also beaten them at Plainmoor. If he is loaned out again I would guess that it would be to a BSP team.

Reading the Swindon forum, I think they are nearing the wage cap limit and are looking to offload players. Someone hinted that Cox can have shirt 31.

di canio is living in cuckooland, but if you read further down the article he states not going to one of our rivals,he obviously rates us and is scared bodin coming back to us would be a kick in the gonads if we beat them to promotion. Also if bodin is worth 250000 ,what the hell is okane worth? whom i think and probably others as well the far better player.Bodin was ok for us,but not brilliant, they can keep him

Would have been a great signing with his potential but we move on. Maybe as one door closes, another opens...

Apologies if you've read this - i put it on another thread but it should probably have gone here as it relates to Bodin. Anyone agree with me? I know it feels unfair levelling any criticism at Lingy (i was pleased with his appointment from day one) after the great job he's doing, but I think he's definitely boobed with his pronouncements over Bodin. Swindon would barely have paid any attention to Bodin at the end of his loan, and I reckon he would have been floundering in their reserves now if it wasn't for the way Lingy kept publicly "bigging" him up as this great player, initially declaring he was his big target for January and he would wait until February. As would have happened if we'd loaned someone out and then they'd got rave reviews from a boss desperate to keep them, on their return there's suddenly renewed interest in giving them another chance and re-evaluating their ability. Swindon fans have been commenting on how Ling rated Bodin on their forums and suddenly Di Canio decided this player he didn't want was worth something. He suddenly plays him and he's scored. Then I couldn't believe what Lingy said publicly this week (on BBC website) "I think the biggest club interested in him now, IF THEY'VE GOT ANY SENSE, is Swindon", "I've always felt he was good enough to be within Swindon's squad", "he's having more and more value to Swindon", "I felt, and I still feel, that he's a first-team starter in League Two and LEAGUE ONE". Anyone would think Lingy's on a bung to get Swindon to keep him! At the very least it would have talked his price up and alerted other clubs and reduced any hope we might have had even for the end of the season when he's out of contract. Why did he just not act outwardly cool about the whole thing while politely asking about his availability.
