As we start the month that could well define our season, they don't come much tougher than an away trip to the pre-season favourites. Although, they have had a mid season wobble due to the distractions of a FA Cup run and losing their two main strikers, it is one heck of an ask to not come back from Sussex empty handed although wins against Swindon, Shrewsbury and Cheltenham since Christmas prove that our side can mix it with the best in this division! As mentioned above, the selling of Tubbs to Bournemouth and the loan of Barnett to Peterborough has left Crawley with their next highest goal scorer on four and although quality has been brought in, it all takes time to gel and bed in although the last two teams we have played has seen us provide the catalyst for an upturn in their fortunes. So basically Evans has gone out and bought Billy Clarke from Blackpool and loaned Sanchez Watt from Arsenal and Shaun Batt from Millwall although the latter has been on bench duties for the last couple of games. All in all, particularly when you add in Akinde, considerable more of a strike force than ourselves and they even have their own Rene although Gilmartin is in on loan covering the keeper position so will no doubt get to meet our Rene! ;D Their last two home games has seen them surprisingly only draw 1-1 with Morecambe although had a good 4-2 win over promotion rivals Cheltenham. However, have also lost against Shrewsbury and Swindon on the road with draws against Plymouth and Oxford completing their record of league games since the new year. As for Torquay, I see that Nathan Craig has now received international clearance which suggests to me that Ling thinks he can do a job out on the pitch before the season's end and who knows with Saah out, there is a vacancy on the bench going. Unless another signing is made this week, I suppose Macklin may be the logical choice to bring into the match day squad to provide cover on the wings. A tough game this one and with two home games next week, anything but a loss will be a positive!

It would be a good idea for no one to abuse Evans and his side kick. compliment him on the hard work he puts in maintaining his wonderful figure.
He did an outstanding job personally counting out all that money before putting it in that brown envelope. not easy with such fat fingers.
Yes you are right Mr Evans, Crawley are the best and di Canio has no right to declare themselves champions
That Graham turner's Shrewsbury didnt deserve to be on the same park as your disciples let alone beat them
please beat us as we are not worthy.
he will freak as he is motivated by all the abuse

After much heartache against this side over the last couple of years, a win would almost make up for it if it sent us on the way to a promotion charge.
Fom what Ling was saying, I can see Jarvis maybe starting on the bench as cover for this one. I think he hit a hat trick and then a brace when he last went on loan to Ling so a repeat of that feat would make his signing very much worth while.
I see from dotcom that Damon is now back up to speed which is great news as I think Crawley play a 4-3-3 with Clarke in the hole / advanced midfield position and we need him to neutralise this threat.
As for the subs bench, with Jarvis and now Craig coming into contention, should be some more tactical options for Ling to consider aside from sending LRT into the corners! ;D

On a more serious note: for those travelling by car the sat nav postcode is RH11 9RX. The ground itself is positioned on an industrial estate with restricted parking. Unfortunately you have to visit the creepy crawley website to see the parking at unused industrial units nearby. The car park adjacent to the ground accommodates 350 vehicles at a cost of £2 (one each for Evans & Raynor)

I see Tia won't be travelling up to Crawley with the team today as he is only landing at Heathrow this morning and going straight to the team hotel! Ling hopes to have him available as a sub but proabably just as well we have another striker if Rene has to leave the field early.

Just in case we play well, I see Evans has got a couple of loanee full backs in Lloyd James, a right back from Colchester and Warren Cummings, a left back from Bournmouth! On the plus side, at least our team will be on first names terms! ;D

I was strangely and unusually pessimistic for both the Bradford City and Gillingham games and my pessimism turned out to be well founded.
It is pleasing to report that the sun is shining today and I am full of confidence.
2-0 to the Gulls with Olejnik looking unbeatable ;D

Its sure to be a test and for one reason or another we have a change at the back. Today will be a more accurate indicator of where we are as a team and where we will finish. Unbeaten runs aside I personally believe we are still lacking in areas that could make the diference.

It could well be the day for an upset............Oxford have just beaten Swindon 2 0 despite being reduced to ten men when Constable was shown a red card.

I see McDonald for Saah is the only change to the starting XI. However, new look subs bench with Jarvis and Craig making the match day squad for the first time with Rice, Atieno and LRT completing the roster.

Half time and the scores still level with Torquay looking to counter attack! Danny twisted his ankle with Jarvis also making his debut. Game still on and no time wasting fron Crawley for once!
