Good to see that as Poke may be out for three more weeks at least, that Bevan has said he would be happy to talk about staying another month.
Reading the story On the HE, I get the feeling we would stay longer, but not so sure he would want to sign, as It sounds like he really wants to stay In the football league.
We still have the problem Of cup games as his club do not want him cup tied, but maybe Bucks can get them to change their mind, as I think the club needs a good cup run and not sure If Rice would be the man to help get us one.

I think he intimated that he would be quite happy to leave Shrewsbury in his quest for first team football!
He also mentioned that he thought he was good enough for league football.
Whether he would be happy to take a chance with us in the hope that we will be a league team next season is another story - but let's hope so eh?

I find it quite amazing after the incident with Poke at Forest Green that we went into last weekend's game at Rushden with a keeper who was carrying a strain without having any kind of professional back up on the bench.
If the article in today's Herald is a fair reflection then Bevan had carried a niggle for a few days going into last week which left him worrying that it would "completely rip up" during the game. One would think that there was ample time for us to activate the recall clause on Martin Rice, but took the option not to.
Has Bevan completely recovered? Are we going to recall Rice for the cup? If there is the slightest doubt about Bevan's fitness why not recall him a week early and stick him on the bench as cover?

I have never been happy not having a keeper on the bench, lets be honest, we got away with It at F.G.Rovers, Sills never really got tested and the guy put the penalty wide.
I found It strange that D.T who was doing the co commentary at our last match, had not even noticed that Bevan was not taking the goal kicks. If there are any concerns about Bevans fitness, then not to recall Rice In my view Is the wrong thing to do.
You can only ride your luck so many times, with the run we are on, not to have cover for Bevan, could mean the run ending, just because we did not do the correct thing and that Is to recall Rice one week early. He looks like he will be recalled anyway for the cup games and as that will end his loan, he maybe back at least until January.
Lets not gamble, but go into the next game with cover all over the pitch, the fans will rightly be unhappy, If not having cover cost us the three points.

[glow=yellow,2,300]I found It strange that D.T who was doing the co commentary at our last match, had not even noticed that Bevan was not taking the goal kicks. [/glow] This is because DT doesn't seem to commentate on the ACTUAL game were trying to listen to, instead opting for background frivilous information, which sometimes maybe interesting to know, but is highly annoying to listen to when this overrides the match at hand!

Are we really to believe the line that Martin is on loan at Truro to ensure he is "Match Fit" if and when TUFC need him. Bucks clearly does not see him as good enough, as every time an opportunity has arose for young Rice PB has always opted with another keeper.
I am not saying Paul Buckle is wrong, I don't particularly rate him as a keeper, I just wish that we could all just acknowledge this is the case and move on, rather than have the same 'should he, shouldn't he' discussions every other week.
In an Ideal world Bevan will sign on loan for the season and he and Poke can fight it out for the number 1 shirt and possibly even a long term deal

Micky you say Bucks does not see Rice as good enough? well he worked with him at city and still signed him, If as you say he does not rate him, why just loan him out?
Would It not have been better to just let him sign a proper deal at Truro, Or any club that may have taken him.Enzo was only making the point that Bevan could be a risk for Saturdays game, then asking should Rice come back early and be on the bench.
So forgive me here but, just what are you on about with this sentence
move on, rather than have the same 'should he, shouldn't he' discussions every other week.
If you mean stay Or go, then you have missed what was being talked about, that Is should we make sure we have cover for Bevan On Saturday.
No , I don't rate Rice, but would prefer him to Sills in goal, because If Rice was not on the bench, Bevan pulls up injured, then It could well be Sills back in goal again, only this time It could cost us the three points.

Yes dear chips that DT goes on and on and forgets that we want to hear some action.
Sure when you are fully trained, you could do a much better job, but you had better hope they you are not sat in some room type box, because you will need someone to lift you up, so you can see the pitch ;D

Thanks Dave. You are correct, I only refered to Rice as he is a keeper that we may have been able to recall quickly. Had it been Kenny Allen on loan at Truro, I'd have refered to him.

I think Dave Thomas 99% gives a good co-commentry on the match and for those unable to get to the match, makes you feel you are actually there.

Well sorry but I simply can't agree with your views On D.T, yes he knows our team and history well, but give him the mike and Off he goes just rabbiting on and on while you sit there not knowing what Is happening on the pitch. Often the commentator has to beak in to get a word In as some action Is happening that we would other wise miss, because he gos on and on and does not know when to stop.
