Is the new kit going to be all blue with yellow trim as per the friendlies. If so this is a marketing disaster. Our colours should be yellow/gold shirts with blue shorts with minor deviations re collars, stripe down side of shorts etc. It should be instantly recognsiable as the colour of Torquay United. Not 99% blue or 99% yellow. The traditional kit should be used on every occasion including away when the other teams colours permit. I don't hold with any of this baloney about pulling on an away shirt of a different colour to make them feel more warrior like. We are Torquay United and we play in blue and yellow and that's it. I must have been asleep all summer to have missed out on this. How can we be the Brazil of the Westcountry, more like Chelsea now. Absolute crap.

Exactly, even if they only had one get a player to model it and at least get some interest in it and maybe some pre-ordering it!
missed chance there.

Where is the suggestion our new home kit will be predominantly blue? I really don't think you can gauge anything from the ensemble thrown together for the friendlies.

Your whole argument seems to be based on the assumption the new kit will be blue? Which I have been told it is not. I expect the all blue shirts we have been using for the pre season friendlies are either a Training kit, a kit the youth team will be using or a kit supplied by Vandanel as some form of an apology over the whole fiasco. I dint really see that in any of those cases it will bear any resemblance to what the first team kit will look like, and I cant really see the need to get so irate over a situation that hasn't even happened yet. I feel sorry for the club over the whole situation as it is not their fault, and I don't think there is any doubt it will of cost them money. If I have read the statements released by the club correctly it appears they decided to go with a custom designed kit rather than a 'stock off the shelves kit', which in my mind is proactive, although with all the negative feedback the club has got with this scenario I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if the next kit will be a Tesco basic shorts and T-shirt and then the moaners can go on about how sh*t it is! If there are some inpatient fans out there who are annoyed with the situation imagine how the club must be feeling about it all I do feel that if the club had of released the kit soon after the play off final then they would of cashed in on the feel good factor that promotion brought, but maybe it was of case of lets see what division we are in before we can decide the budget on the kits? As so far as saying this is "absolute crap", well If this is the biggest thing we have to worry about is the colour of our shirts then thye club is doing all right. you know we could of lost that play off final and then where would we be??

You most certainly HAVE been asleep Sam, nowhere has there been any suggestion that we will be playing in all blue anymore than we would wear the all orange one off kit worn for fund raising purposes at the Buckland PSF. For what it's worth, I thought BOTH those kits were very eye catching and a wonderful alternative strip for the team to wear.

Oh. Ok. I got the wrong end of the stick. Just saw all the blue in the friendlies and came to the wrong conclusion. Will wind my neck in again. Sorry people.

So now I read that the "new kit" release won't be until Tuesday 11th August....... but there WILL be one on display in the shop, so you can see what it looks like and order one!.....BRILLIANT! WHAT THE HELL IS ALL THAT ABOUT? WHY ALL THE BLOODY SECRECY OVER A NEW KIT? IT'S HARDLY COLONEL SANDERS' 11 HERBS AND SPICES IS IT?....... OR THE SECRET FORMULA TO COCA COLA FOR THAT MATTER! WHY DOESN'T THE CLUB GET A PICTURE OF IT ON THE OFFICIAL SITE SO THE FANS CAN SEE THE BLOODY THING!!! IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE, SURELY. Basically, it means that any exiled Torquay fans who want to try one on in the shop, then purchase it are buggered then. By the time the next home fixture comes around, all the kits that the club have in stock would have been snapped up - and we'll have to wait another 6 weeks for the next batch to come in! PS: I won't apologise for the rant and "shouting" text, because this whole situation (that has dragged on for weeks now) has left me BLOODY ANNOYED!!
