i have just read, the last few posts reference the weymouth steward, unbelievable and unacceptable behaviour, and in my view regardless what was going on at the time, hitting a minor is something that should never happen. i can only hope the authorities deal with this firmly and properly. i will detail here what i personally have, by the way of qualifications etc, so i can work in the position which i hold at Plainmoor. initially i have many years experience, which i feel aids my judgement and ability, i hold an SIA (security industry agency),frontline security licence, to gain this, i had to do a four day training course and two examinations, i had to be CRB checked, (for any criminal history) and personal documentations checked to verify i am who i say i am. i have also attended a restraint and arrest course, and i am now doing an NVQ3 course, all this to be a steward!!!!!!!!!!!! however i do feel strongly about doing my job to the best of my ability and any education i undertake can only be of benefit. i enjoy my work at Plainmoor. however the events at weymouth, do really show the other side of human nature, the stewards in question made it personal. which as a professional steward should never happen. Steve we know you are a top man and know you would never hit us I might put it to the test one of these fine days, but if you decide to hit me back, you will have to remember the best chance of getting a hit, is to aim as low as possible

hi Dave thanks for the low blow tip ;D however, don't feel that would be necessary, i can't believe that a steward has hit a child, the point i was trying to make in my last post is as you are aware TUFC take training matters very seriously, and most, if not all of our stewards are training at present, as a supervisor, i take a very serious view towards my training and i feel all stewards, be it wembley, torquay or anywhere, should be trained and if not already CRB checked via SIA licensing, then they should be CRB checked by whatever agency they are employed by. this would remove the thug element from the job Steve004

Steve as I have said to you before, I don't feel we have any stewards now in our ground, who could be described as thugs. That was not the case when the company who do the stewarding first took over, it was often felt many of the stewards were just waiting for the chance to go in on TUFC fans.
Those days seem far behind us now and that is why I believe having you as a member on here, will help to further improve relationships between the fans and the stewards.
So thanks for all your imput on here Dave
