I completely understand the suggestion that should Sills get injured, he'd be a big miss. But then so would Manse at right-back. A team in our position can only support so many players, and perhaps we're overloaded in certain areas, and short in others. We have several centre-backs, but only one right-back. We have loads of right-wingers, but no left. We have a multitude of central-midfielders, but only one 'target-man' up front. I can't see any more coming in, unless someone goes out - and there doesn't appear to be any action that way either. If Sills got injured, we'd certainly lose his presence, but we'd just have to modify our attacking style. With Green running the channels and Benyon in and around the penalty area, we'd still cause problems. If we got another 'big-man' in up-front, he'd have to be satisfied with very limited opportunities. Are we likely to get quality with that in mind? And if he got in the side alongside Sills, we'd naturally get more direct again.

I would like to have known what was in Bucks head when he bought in Brough at the expense of a 4th striker. Easy with hindsight perhaps.

Was perhaps his original plan to move Hargreaves into the back four and utilise Brough more in the middle of park?? Can't remember whether this was tried in any of the earlier games in the season. Certainly remember Hargreaves being switched back into the middle after not many games.

Crazyfool, yeah he tried it along with other stupid experiments. Which is why we had such a shit start to the season and why we now have little or no chance of catching Burton.

I know Rendall didn't do much last night but Cambridge have spent (I believe) £25K in bringing him in to assist in their promotion hopes. Good money well spent if they succeed. Well if you watched them on Setanta last night you'd realise they're getting a fat, over weight lardy for their money..................they seem to appeal to former Fat Boy Brabin who also had McHeavily in his squad and still has Crowe too. In fact the Cambridge squad as a whole look off the pace physically and generally out of condition, thuggish at the back - one guy committed TWO red card offences in the space of ten minutes and generally got away with murder for the price of one yellow card. They have not won away in eleven matches have yet to overturn a deficit into a winning result all season and talking of the "Von Trapps" they couldn't trap a bag of cement between them. Brabin was a fecking disgrace when he played for us and his appalling standards are showing through in the team he manages now! "Good money well spent" my arse!

Flipping 'eck!!! I whole heartedly AGREE with Merse, that's a new emotion!!!!
Thought Rendell was out of sorts and Cambridge had some dirty players. Don't rade Brabin at all either.

Like Merse says, I thought Rendell was very poor last night. There is no doubting that he is a proven goalscorer at this level - but if anyone saw the game on Setanta last night, then before the match they showed 4 of Rendell's recent goals - and every single one of them was either nodded in, or poked over the line, from a distance of no more than two feet, I swear! Whilst he has the knack of being in the right place at the right time, there really doesnt appear to be anything else to Rendell's game - give me Sillsy every time! Although Paul Parker seemed to be drooling again over Wrexham's kids, I really didnt think that they were any great shakes either, and its fair to say that there was a huge element of luck in both their goals. Its also true that one or two of their better players have been borrowed from Premiership/Championship sides - no doubt Dean Saunders is using his connections to the full - and may eventually have to return to their own clubs.

Yes I saw the match last night but I think the key words were ' If they succeed' and on last nights match he was very poor along with Bolland (?) who body checked Williams and also had a piece of that young guys shirt whilst threatening him (all under the refs eye).

Hi Dave ive never had the chance to visit Thailand but from what I hear it has lots to offer. Is the best you can find to do ....to just keep logging on and making outrageous statements about PB? Why not go and admire some nice laddiieess but go careful first and do what Vinny did to Gazza just to check ;D

Beavon scores again tonight, 5 in 3 games. Yeovil sign 2 today so I think they are out of the race

I've heard from a mate at school who's mum works at TUFC, that Matt Green is being watched by West Brom, Charlton and other clubs.
I didn't believe it, and I hope he doesn't go, as we need him to continue to progress with us before moving on, in my opinion.
I doubt he'll go to a Championship team, but if he continues to perform like he has against Blackpool/Coventry he could well be picking up interest from Football League clubs.

Nick the way Green has been playing he is going to attract interest in him, but I would hope he sees his future lies here for the time being, as he really can play a big part in our season and help us go back up.
