I see that both david Graham's have now been released. are their careers connected?
when our DG was scoring 23 goals the other was scoring for fun for Gretna. Now, our DG gets released by Lincoln and the other by Hamilton Accies

I think the Hamilton one was only released so he could sign for Dunfermline...so he's not out of work as long as our one might be.

Here we are, the 22nd January and apart from Christopher Plummer the transfer door appears to have been locked.....unless Bucks is keeping his powder dry.

Anyway, what were you expecting, the whole von Trapp family? ;D

Not really sure where we need improvement? We're not scoring shed-loads of goals, but then neither are Man Utd! The players we have in our squad are good enough - and any squad can only carry so many players. Both Green and Benyon are worthy enough foils for Sills, and there is Roscoe and Plummer to add to that equation too. How many strikers do people expect a club in our position to support? Benyon is an excellent 'fox in the box', whilst Green has great pace and runs the channels. Both work exceptionally hard from start to finish so deserve a little perseverence. Green's scoring record indicates he has all the ability he needs, he's just lacking some confidence and little bit of fortune. He'll come good, and Benyon (who is the best finisher in the club in my opinion) is always available to throw on if we're desperate for a goal.

We made our January moves on the 27th last season - maybe a date for the diary...maybe not!

Tivertongull - my main worry is that without Sills we lack penetration, shape (if thats the correct phrase) and his all round ability yo lead the attack/defend. The Rushden game certainly bought this home to me.
IF I was Bucks that would be the only position worth looking into. As sure as eggs are eggs we may lose Sills to injury or suspension just when we are close to or in the play offs.

he isn't rushing into anything as whoever we sign cannot play against Coventry, not needed against Lewes and cannot play against Southport (more than likely cup tied).
therefore, he has a couple of weeks to decide and save some salary.
My money is still on Stuart Beavon. Definitely need a striker

Chelstongull may want the whole Von Trapp family et al to sign for us but at the moment it's gone quiet with no moves in or out although, as has been said, there's still time before The Gulls are Alive with the Sound of Movement....

A little harsh BG, I think we just need one more piece of the puzzle in place in order to push for the play offs. Its an important bit of puzzle - someone to assist Sills or stand in should the need arise. I know Rendall didn't do much last night but Cambridge have spent (I believe) £25K in bringing him in to assist in their promotion hopes. Good money well spent if they succeed. Wrexham I think will be in the final and its no coincidence that both they and Burton have TWO strikers with bags of goals. I just don't think that a strike force of Sills, Benyon and Green will get us back into the League...........

Sorry Chelston... I agree with your view point... I was just trying to manipulate a joke into the proceedings!! Which, in hindsight was very weak anyway.... I did try and think of something along the lines of we could do with a whole team of Von Trapps as no one seems to be able to 'Trapp' a ball in our team at present but that one really, really didn't work...

Tristan Plummer is the guy we have in on loan ... while Christopher Plummer is an actor who is mainly famous for his role as the head of the Von Trapp family in the Sound of Music!Mind you, the number of times it's been repeated on TV over the years ... is there anyone out there who didnt know that? Like CG says, my biggest concern would be injury/suspension to Tim Sills and with our hectic schedule I think we could do with another striker who can help share the workload over the remainder of the season. I just dont think we are as effective a team without Sills in it - whatever combination of Benyon/Green/Dsane Paul Buckle chooses to use.
