If Christie isn't fit, I'd say FansForum favourite Green has a fairly good chance of starting, Dave. Bucks won't want to see the drifting out wide he saw and dropped him for, though. Rob, Green is only well liked because he is a good player and is improving all the time. Do you believe Green was dropped because he goes out wide? I think you may find its a tactic that Bucks is using and Green is only doing what is asked of him. While I feel that Green needs to be in the middle if he is going to get the goals he should be getting, having him run out wide does mean we put balls into places where he will win the ball high up the field. Far better than the hit and hope balls that get played when we do not have the pace of Green in the team.

The timing of Buckle's comments previously, Green's subsequent dropping and the signing of a centre-forward do indeed make me believe he was dropped for this reason, yes. He wanted someone having a go at goal and Green wasn't. No great shakes. Hopefully the decision to drop him will make him come back stronger and win over his critics.

From what I have observed from watching Christie on numerous occasions I would venture that Sills place is more in danger than anyone else from his arrival. Not that I would anticipate Christie starting the next game we play, rather that he was used as a replacement for Sills the moment he looks to have "peaked physically" rather than the often more used tactic of pulling him off in the closing minutes. Christie is a good three inches or so shorter than Sills though more mobile and heavier of build and thus could give us more mobility up front if the manager feels that is required during the course of any match which I'm sure is why he has signed him now and why he tried to sign him in the close season.

May have hit the nail on the head there Merse... Stats from t'internet have him at six-foot though. I feel good for the reaching the play-offs and a little better of our chances in them. You never know, miracles may happen and Burton could blow-up (to let Wrexham in for the title!! )

That's what I reckon too. Up until now, I have felt that not only would Sills missing a game be a disaster, but that you wouldn't want to take him off twenty miinutes from the end for fear of leaving our strike-force short on physical presence. With almost two games a week from now on in, we need to take some of that weight of Sills' shoulders. Better for him to be on the pitch 80% of the time giving 100% than to be on the pitch 100% of the time only able to give 80%.

If he can fill our Tim's shoes when needs be that can only be good for the squad, as there hasn't been anyone up until now. Like Jon, I worry how we'd perform without Sills putting it about up top. Certainly our defence, as at Crawley, would find they had more to do.

I emailed a friend of mine who works at Stevenage Borough asking him what he thought of Mr. Christie. I got this response: How to describe Iyseden Christie? Fat. Lazy. Tw*t.
Joined us pre-season and was shipped out after about a month due to his attitude and being overweight. Went to Kettering, we agreed to sell him to them when the transfer window opened in January, but it never went through as they refused to pay the £1,000 per week he demands.
He turned up to training with us after that and was swiftly told where to go. His attitude is atrocious, including to fans, and he thinks he's amazing when in reality he's sh*t and a knob (not sure if he's lost some weight).
I could tell you more, but as it's not in the public domain i better not.Read into that what you will! This friend of mine tends to be very blinkered when it comes to talking about football. As nice a guy he is, I consider him to be one of those irritating know-it-all blokes who always seem to stand behind you at the game. For these reasons, I'll take his opinions with a massive pinch of salt. The "I could tell you more" bit was interesting though.

We have know-it-alls where I sit as well... The ones who still reminisce about Eric Webber as the best manager we had and remember the day he joined us as a player!
