Looking on the Kettering Town website (it's what you do when you have 12inches of snow outside) Christie has made 24 appearances this season and scored 6 goals (1pen)

cant help but feel sorry for elliot benyon, who it appears has gone further down the pecking order. imo he has had a pretty raw deal this season. he has scored 8 goals this season and rarely has he started a game, always to come on as a sub and often changed the game in p.bs words. i still believe he is the most natural goalscorer at the club, but never given an extended run. he will no doubtleave at the end of the season and go on to be a big success at another club, much to our regret.

Chris Todd and Michael Brough to Salisbury City on loan for a month. Makes sense in both cases I think.

I think that this is probably the end for Brough at Torquay. The loan will probably get extended and he should make a move somewhere in the summer. I think it's the best thing for Todd. A month should mean he can get 3 or 4 games and get some fitness back for the run in with us.

phipsy, I still believe Benyon will play some part in the team, he has only been coming on as a sub for some time now anyway. While I agree about his finishing, he has proved to be a bit lightweight at times. I'm sure he will fill out and get stronger, he is still young and even if he did leave at the end of the season, he should make it somewhere.

Glad Toddy will get some competitive match practice before returning to the fold. I would agree that if Brough is able to persuade Holmes he has something to offer, that his loan will be extended until the end of the season.

I think a significant indicator of the differing financial situations and ultimately ambitions of BSP promotion contenders is the sale today of John-Paul Pittman by Crawley Town to Wycombe Wanderers for a "substantial fee". How would WE be feeling right now if one of OUR strikers who had scored 14 goals this season already were to have departed today? Dave Shaw is right in one of his assertions...................no BSP manager is as fortunate in having such boardroom backing as Paul Buckle, but I'd rather not use this as a stick to beat him with, rather draw comfort that OUR directors are doing their utmost to bring success to Plainmoor. Nothing is guaranteed, nothing is easy; but at least we have a strong committed board and a competent and rapidly learning management team. Time now, for the ordinary supporters to play their part and turn up and support in numbers more befitting such a set up.

They did get Shaw and Lewis Chalmers in, though. Granted, but Evans stated quite clearly that it was a boardroom decision to accept the offer from Wycombe and that he categorically didn't want to lose Pittman......................nor the "other player" they have said they've now received a written offer for. Finishers of pace like Pittman don't grow on trees and he has indeed been very good against us, and by far the most outstanding Crawley player in my opinion.

Time now, for the ordinary supporters to play their part and turn up and support in numbers more befitting such a set up. Merse as I said in another post, the board has indeed shown they are backing their man and showing a real desire to get the club back into the football league. We went over all the reasons why we felt gates were low and not what would have been expected and now we will enter a period of not so many games at home. The build up to Christmas saw so many home games and I know a few fans, who were unable to afford the extra expense that comes with Christmas, plus so many home games and had to choose some matches to miss completely. The gates from now to the end of the season will go one way or the other. Not having games nearly every week would you think make the monthly layout for many now more affordable, but it will be results on the pitch that will decide if the gates increase to a level that the board had based its budgets on, for this season. If Burton start to drop a few points and TUFC make a flying start to the second half of the season, gates will go up. There will always be glory supporters, but also some who would want to try and play their part in helping the team go up, even if they no longer could be called a regular. On the other hand, a poor start and the team dropping down the table will in my view see gates fall even further, as some would feel there was nothing really left to play for this season. There will always be a die hard number of fans who will turn up no matter what, but those numbers have gone down since we became a BSP club.
