Beavon scores again tonight, 5 in 3 games. Yeovil sign 2 today so I think they are out of the race If we don't/can't buy him then lets hope someone else does, preferably before next Tuesday.

Weymouth would prefer to move him on, if only to save much needed money and I believe they would let him go on a free. While we had talks with him, it must have been the case we did not meet his demands.
With Yeovil not signing him and bringing in two players today,Beavon may not have many options now, he knows full well that Weymouth will be part time next season, so who knows he may well see us as his best move now.I'm sure the way he is now banging them in, that Bucks would still want him and there is still time to do a deal,

Nick the way Green has been playing he is going to attract interest in him, but I would hope he sees his future lies here for the time being, as he really can play a big part in our season and help us go back up. I agree Dave, if he continues to play like he has it could be a good second half of the season! I also heard that Plummer was going back (which you all seem to know!), and that we're quite close to signing Beavon apparently. I hope we do sign him, as he could be cover for Sills and Green at the same time in my opinion.

Nick I would hope that we still bring in a striker before the window closes, but time is fast running out. Bucks indicates that a player could be coming and as I said on another thread, as Beavon as not signed for Yeovil, we can but hope its him.
If not I'm sure that Green will continue to improve and will shut up his critics with goals that will keep our promotion hopes on track.

Everyone seems to have such a 'doom and gloom' attitude about our players. People criticise a lack of activety while, simultaniously, suggesting that we should'nt have signed a player who we've only had the chance to see once and who has not been here 5 minutes. The fact is, since the diabolicle start to the season we have been pretty impecable the majority of the times I have seen us. Why change a winning formula?

tufcwewillbeback, would hardly think posters have been posting doom and gloom posts about the players, yes concerns have been raised about our lack of goals at the moment and you can't say can you, that you are happy with the lack of goals?
Plummer came here on loan and big noises were being made about him, he has not had a chance and some will feel his loan time here was wasted and you can understand why. Like I said he may have shown nothing in training for Bucks to want to play him in the first team, who knows, but if we could get a striker and even say Beavon, it can only be a big help to try and get back into the league for next season, not many fancy having to stay in the BSP to long.

Without putting 2 and 2 together and making 25,000 I see Ashley Barnes has been recalled from his loan spell at Eastbourne, and he scored for Plymouth's reserves this afternoon.
Think the useful winger Dan Smith is still with Borough and scored for them last night as they moved to the edge of the play-off race. Biggest surprise of the season for me in the BSP.

He was ond the bench for Argyle in their game with Bristol City on tuesdaynight. They only have two fit senior forwards in Fallon and MacLean, thats probably the reason he went back to Argyle?

Reading Toddy's BBC Blog suggests that he might be looking to move-out on loan to regain match fitness. I guess that we could consider sending players like Ellis and Carayol out to ensure that they are sharp when we need to recall them.
I think even though Barnes has been recalled by Argyle to cover injuries, Plymouth would be looking for more senior cover (as they slide down the league!!) and I guess that they would be looking for him to continue his development by regularly starting matches at a decent level rather than restricting him to reserve football. I wouldn’t see him as the 'season changing signing' that I saw that we have been linked with, so Im still intrigued as to who he might be!
Personally, I wouldn’t be disappointed if we didn’t have any new arrivals before the transfer window closes. I'm happy with the squad as I see it at the current time - lest we forget that the opportunity is there to bring-in any players on loan until the end of March so if the right player with the right attitude at the right price isnt available in the next few days then it's not a huge problem.
