Well, we have a good start and Johnson can start thinking about recruiting now we know which league we are in and actually there may be a few players from the NLS that may have impressed along the way. ( Murphy, Kretzschmar, Little for example )
Current situation:
MacDonald
Wynter. Niate/Sendles-White, Cameron, Davis
Keating, Hall, Dickson, Kalala
Reid Koszela
I think there is a good chance that some of the younger loanees may return for next season, Opi has unfinished business, Vincent only just got started and while I spoke to a Plymouth fan who thought Janneh would do well in league 1 with them next season would love to think he can continue his development with us. When it comes to loanees we don’t find out until just before the season starts so could be a quiet few months.
A word of warning, the 2 promoted sides from NLS last year, Braintree and Havant and Waterlooville have just been relegated straight back down with the later team previously getting 86 points so strengthening is required from the signed players above. Now back in a league with mainly full timers so those late goals won’t be so common!

Excellent points rjdgull...would like to see us recruit the best of the NLS players for next season...along with a couple of experienced pros. Would be interested to hear which players other forum members would like to see at Plainmoor next season.

As for the relative strength of the step up, at present the bottom 8 are all southern based teams and 8 of the top 12 from ooop north.

link - confirmation that both Sendles-White and Burton has been released with Johnson looking for 10 or 11 players including some Marquee signings to add to the existing eleven.

Looks like we will be playing Notts County next season as they plummet to their lowest ever level

I spoke to a Plymouth fan who thought Janneh would do well in league 1 with them next season Probably do even better in league 2

I spoke to a Plymouth fan who thought Janneh would do well in league 1 with them next season Probably do even better in league 2 Absolutely and all of a sudden only one league separates us from both Exeter and Plymouth and if it ever came down to a choice then the club that you know may be a stronger factor in deciding where to go.

link - I see that Rhys Murphy has left Chelmsford and is now available. Has been prolific at National League south level but struggled a bit at various levels above. He was of course on loan with us for three months a couple of years ago but does tick Chelston’s beefy / tall striker box and maybe could compliment Reidy up front with about 60 goals between them last year! Is he one on Johnson’s radar? I think his son Lee signed him while manager at Oldham so have in depth knowledge of him and whether he would fit into our club.

Interesting point on Rhys Murphy....imagine he would be effective in NL. Re Notts County....remember in mid 70s? 80s? when they brought a team of giants to Plainmoor and kicked us off the park. Never much liked them since.

Never much liked them since. I remember a League Cup game against them, 1978,79 or 80. We had drawn at their place and they beat us 0-1. They were dirty bastards, according to the Daily Mirror the reason there were no sending offs was because the referee had dropped his cards during the game and they weren't returned to him till after full time by a Notts County player. At full time someone in the mini stand shouted "get the ref" which led to a pitch invasion. Again according to the Mirror the referee was given a police escort out of Devon.

If we were to look at NLS players, anyone think Tyler Harvey would be worth a look at in PSFs?
