link - bit more on Little signing on Devon Live with his background and why he was attracted to our club. Also looks likes at least one more signing is due this week....

Updated situation:
MacDonald
Wynter, Niate, Cameron, Davis
Keating, Hall, Little, Kalala
Reid Koszela
Subs
Covolan gk Dickson
I wonder how many of the above will actually start our first league game? Could be up to nine but likely six or seven?

MacDonald - cover = Covalan
Wynter =(no cover)
Niate & Cameron - (no cover)
Davis, (cover = Dickson)
Keating, Hall, Little, Kalala ( At least one more required though Dickson would also be considered as midfield cover)
Reid & Koszela - cover = Keating (At least one more forward of Saikou Janneh quality required - Koszela to continue his education with occasional cameo appearances unless he pushes hard and really takes off!)
Subs
Covolan gk Dickson Just my opinion but I see the priorities as - right wing back - center back - midfielder/forwards x 2 the rest of the squad made up with quality loans. Wouldn't be surprised to see Opi Edwards, Frankie Vincent or Connor Lemonheigh Evans return. Janneh I reckon will be pushing for starts at his club.

Some interesting speculation from Andy Charles elsewhere concerning Aden Baldwin. Is at Bristol City and was brought in on loan at Cheltenham by Gary Johnson. Age 21, Baldwin had a serious knee injury at the start of last season, but is a centre-back who can also play at right back. Would make sense that a punt may be taken there as it provides cover for Wynter as well as potentially resolving our need for a starting centre-back if deemed (fit and) stronger than Koue Niate by the gaffer who signed him for League 2 football last season. I think this is informed speculation when it comes to this player, the Club he is currently at, and the Gary Johnson connection. Certainly on his radar of one to keep note of. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aden_Baldwin

link - bit more from Johnson who he is not afraid to get in those younger players who he thinks has the ability and are also happy to move down here to get that opportunity and something we saw anyway last year. Once more, expectation of another signing by the end of the week. Also, 2 or 3 loan signings likely by the start of the season and I can only look at Bristol CIty and possibly Bournemouth as possible sources.

So far so good but perhaps there has been a hitch with the expected latest ‘signing’ - just hope there is not a major problem!

Hard to believe but guessing some players may be reluctant to move to the South West. They don't know what they are missing.

So far so good but perhaps there has been a hitch with the expected latest ‘signing’ - just hope there is not a major problem! More likely to be something mundane like having the right paperwork in place but we don’t know what is happening and us fans are on tenterhooks as we wait for confirmation of signings at this time of year. However, with the January re-signings at least we don’t have to worry about whether existing players are going to sign on the dotted line and are well ahead of where we usually are - heck we haven’t had a manager at this point in some previous years!

I see there is a lot of chatter on social media and the other forums about Jake Andrews possibly signing for us. While this makes a lot of sense and could see this happening I am also aware that it was reported in the Bristol post about three weeks ago that he had been offered a contract to stay at City - link. That is not to say that he accepted it and possibly thought it is time to play first team football not as a loanee and TUFC would tick an awful lot of boxes for him.

One reason why things have gone quiet is that players currently with EFL clubs are contracted until the 30th June. It should be noted that Armani Little hasn't actually signed for us yet as he is still under contract to Oxford United, what he has signed is a Pre-contract agreement to join us.

link - looks like last week’s anticipated signing was just down to logistics and the good news is that there are a couple incoming by the end of this week. 😀 Not too long until players turn up for training on 26th June in just 2 weeks time and Johnson looking to play in a similar attacking style and keep up the entertainment value. Hopefully with half the side retained from last year plus possibly a few returning loanees and a few signed prior to preseason we will hit the ground running early on and get a good start and the confidence to kick on in the season.

Not seen it mentioned on here, but Manny Duku has been transfer listed by Cheltenham. Johnson signed him for Cheltenham and Cheltenham refused our request to have him join us on loan earlier this season just gone according to a Gloucestershire Live article around the time GJ was unsure if he could extend Saikou Janneh’s loan. He is surely near the top of GJ’s wanted list, I’d’ve thought. That was a nice bit of info Rob from 4 weeks ago and shows the advantage of bringing a manager in from a higher league as a lot of the leg work has already been done by him and while he has not been played much by the new manager that is in the league above and obviously Johnson sees a lot in him and how he fits into the style of play he wants.
