I see the No Deal Neanderthals are keeping up their attacks on female journalists and MP’s outside Westminster. £350 million a week and Turkey. Repeat. £350 million a week and Turkey.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-46803112Brexit: MPs defeat government over no-deal preparations So few wanted or expected No Deal and our democratic process is trying it’s very best to prevent the Far Right, Neanderthal, Luddite, Privileged Trust Fund Millionaire Brexit Establishment Alliance having their way. Good to see ‘Parliament taking back control’ tonight. It’s what the illegal Vote Leave campaign championed, of course. No doubt the Far Right thugs will now be targeting whichever female/s didn’t vote the way they wanted tonight.

Mmm...that's interesting...it's normally just Labour that go against the will of the majority of the people!

Oh my goodness Rob, I feel such a fool! For being so stupid, I'm going to give myself a really good smack...ow...that really hurt! For all these years I've got it wrong, because I thought Democracy was for the common people, and when the common people had voted, the custodians of the law (Parliament) upheld the will of the people! Instead, it seems that Democracy, is in the hands of 642 (37 of which, couldn't be arsed to turn up on such an important vote) Privileged Piles of Puss! How could I have got it so wrong...no more arguments from me about Brexit on this thread! Down with Brexit...Down with Brexit...Down with Big Brother...Down with Big Brother...

You won’t be the first person to regret a previous stance on Brexit, Reg, but your enlightenment should be applauded.
I shouldn’t beat yourself up on the democracy point as these votes in Parliament were largely about trying to avoid No Deal and the public has never been given a vote on that.
Some are asking for a public vote on the exit terms, but apparently some ‘pro-democracy’ types don’t fancy that as they fear No Deal would be trounced. Hopefully that’s clearer.

For the past two days in the House of Commons, many MPs who support "remain" have been claiming that the facts show that leaving the EU will be a disaster. To a lesser extent advocates of "leave" are saying the same thing about remaining in it.
They are all wrong, as "facts" can only be identified and stated after the event, and everything they are saying is nothing more than speculation. It's rather like marmite lovers giving it up and haters trying it. If we remain, we will never know the potential benefits of leaving. Until we leave, we simply don't know whether it would have been better to remain.
Quite a dilemma!

Thanks for that link, very interesting. However, those saying "remain" have no need to express any differences on the remaining terms, or to contradict each other, as the status quo always involves only one objective. It will not be until we do actually leave that those saying "remain" will be able to start talking about differences. Greg Clark is a very astute and credible supporter of "remain" in terms of the prospects for business, but of course he would say what he has said, wouldn't he, because that is his role in the government. Gavin Williamson has a much more open-minded and sensible approach.

Owen is the gift that keeps on giving, and while his antics keep providing plenty of chuckles, the media thankfully continue to feature him. Gay, Far Left, Guardian Columnist, Corbyn supporter, Remainer, Self Identifying Feminist.......if you wanted to best describe Owen to an audience exclusively made up of Torquay United supporters, I think the easiest way would be to tell them that if Owen decided to move to Torquay he'd be immediately declared TUST leader for life. Even Owen himself admits that he risks being seen as a "lefty rent-a-gob" . Throw in the fact that he's now reached his 30's but still looks 16, and it all helps explain why Owen struggles to be taken seriously by most grownups. Then again, his propensity for acting as if he's 16, and still a stroppy teenager just adds to the impression that he'd be more suited to a Sixth Form debating society. While Rob has almost cornered the market on featuring Sky News, I'll save him the trouble of posting this clip of Owen in familiar Lefty fashion, trying to police other people's speech, and ending with a full scale scattering of toys well clear of the pram. Personally I don't really mind Owen, and consider him harmless enough. and accept that a small number of Lefties almost wet themselves with excitement when he appears on our TV screens. But as for the bulk of the country (and let's stick with Sky to keep Rob happy) we had our thoughts on Owen articulated perfectly a few weeks before Christmas by one onlooker, and even Kay Burley couldn't help smiling to hear Owen summed up so accurately, yet so concisely

Owen Jones: The epitome of all that's wrong with this country! One of the 'Snowflakes' who has never done any thing, will never do anything, and is fawned over by other 'Snowflakes ' who will also never do anything! You just want to grab him by the throat, bend him over and give him a sound rogering...maybe just a slap!
