I agree with Stefano that the image of the badge posted by AP is insulting, not only to Churchill himself but also to many people who either voted Remain or don't subscribe to infantile xenophobia. Churchill is, rightly in my opinion, regarded as a national hero by people of all persuasions because he was the War Leader who led this country to victory. It is regretable that there are some who would wish to claim him for their own narrow agenda.

I think we have to look at the bigger picture here, and you don’t have much of a bigger picture than Churchill. Would Churchill actually have made that gesture?
As has been said already (to which I agree) Churchill is/was a national hero, and a great leader in time of war. Imagine if May had been in charge, we would have lasted about a week!
With what has happened to this country since joining Europe, I think we can safely say he would.
Oh, and before anyone says I’m just agreeing with AJ on this, you’re wrong. I’m not right wing (whatever that is anyway) I’m more Silly Mid Off!

OK, I'll throw my two penneth in ... as the sun is shining and I'm in a good mood .... keenly expecting an away win plainmoorpete While Pete expresses the opinion that Churchill is regarded as a national hero by people of all persuasions, therefore both those on a ‘Leave’ or ‘Remain’ side equally, the speed with which Stefano was out of the blocks trying to claim Winston as an avid Remainer doesn’t seem to bother him anywhere near as much as the knowledge that some on Leave side have also tried to associate Churchill with their point of view. Of course I might be misunderstanding, and Pete’s observation that ‘it is regrettable that there are some who would wish to claim him for their own narrow agenda’ could be a rebuke to Stefano and his audacious attempt to set up Churchill as a totem for modern day Remainers ...oops I mean ‘Rejoiners’ to rally around, it could be emphasising that the ‘Leave’ cause attracted the more widespread support (as evidenced by the actual Referendum result) and is therefore categorising Remain as the more ‘narrow agenda’ ? That we start off the new year, by learning that Churchill, a man who loved to throw around an insult himself, would be insulted by his image appearing on a badge with the innocuous words ’Bye bye EU’ on it, may indicate that 2021 is already gearing up to see the ‘Offence card’ being played more regularly than ever before … and it’ll have to go some to beat 2020 !

Shafted it is then...talk about only having one job to do!
Fishermen/Fisherpeople (don’t want Rob on my back) aren’t happy, City of London’s not happy, in fact who is bloody happy...oh yeah, the EU! You can tell they’re happy because they haven’t complained about a thing!
I must admit that after reading most of the papers across the board to find out in-depth details on the agreement, I find that the Telegraph and Times have declined somewhat over the years! Fortunately, we can still rely on the stalwart of British media...The Daily Mail.

Shafted it is then......The Daily Mail. There’s others to blame, but that’s not a bad start. We had to compromise in negotiations as that’s how they work. Johnson had his pants down by the end. Was always going to be the case, despite promises about ‘easiest deal in history’, Gove’s ‘we hold all the cards’ and other such assorted bullshit pre-plebiscite that you’d find echoed by your rag of choice.

It was the easiest deal in history...we did hold all the cards! What we needed though was someone with a pair of balls to stand up for this country, not someone who dropped his drawers whilst standing on the White Cliffs, preparing for yet another sound Rodgering from the EU. As I’ve mentioned on many occasions, the last PM we had with a pair of balls was Margaret Thatcher.

So people are angry that Boris sold them out and got a very bad deal and capitulated on all his red lines. But he was a figure head and key member of the leave camp he was their only chance of leaving the EU with such a great deal (so we had been told).
People also angry that Boris has ballsed up the handling of Covid-19 in this country and feeding school kids and generally running the country.
As so many leavers keep saying to remainers 'if you dont like it then live somewhere else' wht cant leavers take their own advise........just not in the EU as fom has gone now so its not as easy.

It’s Payback Time.
This will give the Remoaners something to...we’ll, moan about!
Not that they need any prompting to moan! 🤘

You make it so easy: what are you doing now...moaning!
Having looked at your posts concerning me, (very little point at looking at the others, because you’re just agreeing with whatever is said, because you don’t actually have thoughts of your own) I have suspicions that you haven’t yet reached puberty!
If you’re interested in what puberty means, you can find the answer on page 673 of the Oxford English Dictionary...paperback version. 🙈

Brexiteers promised something where is it? Shall we ask the fishermen? Did you just call people on here sheep or thick? Im not sure which but it wasnt very nice

I notice that the Supreme Court has blocked a bid by Shamima Begum to return to the UK!
Had we still been in the Basket Case, the case would have been referred to that lot, who would have decided in a nanosecond that she could come back here and live a peaceful and constructive life! 🤔
Sanity 1...Basket Case 0.

French elections today, and if the woman gets in, that’s the end of the Basket Case…or as a few people prefer to call it…the EU! 🧺
