I was listening to a very interesting debate on the J.Vine show as it seems many local councils are looking to evict those connected to last weeks riots from their homes. One such eviction order has already been started by one London Council (seems it takes around six months to get one) even before the person in question has been to court. But this person is not the tenant as such as he lives in the house with his mother and sister and should the eviction notice stand, it means the whole family will be homeless.
I did not give my views on the thread about the riots, for one thing the thread got a bit political and went over my head and the other thing was I don’t have a clue what living in a city is like, or all the problems that can go with it.
But this topic is one I feel I can have a view on and after listening to all sides of the debate today, decided I fell on the side that said they should not lose their homes. I think the thing that swung it for me was the fact we do have courts to issues punishments for all offences committed and this looked to me as the person just because he lived in social housing, was getting a second punishment.
What about the people living in private accommodation that get housing benefit, will they be evicted as well? If so then what about those who own their own houses, should they have them taken away? Did the MP’s have to give their homes when they as good as stole our money by claiming all those expensives?
Yes those rioters should have the book thrown at them, but to evict the whole family for what one family member might have done with out their knowledge, does seem a step to far in my opinion.

Those that are on benifits should have them taken away for a period of time( a year or so) and if I had my way would have them flogged, they obviously don`t give a shit about anyone but themselves and need a massive helping hand in a reality check! Or should we all just pander to the little darlings and let them run riot? Their families should have control (or knowledge) over where their little darlings are so some of them anyway, there were families welcoming new 42" LCD t.v`s and knew where their little cherubs were the whole time, I agree the innocent parents and family members of those accused should not be punished but if you believe all of the parents and family members didn`t know where and what their kids were up to then you are sadly mistaken!

You soft southern lefty ;D Can`t help it mate! I was brought up to know where the line was drawn and what happened if I crossed it! There were never any seconded chances handed out. I try to teach my daughter the difference between right and wrong and so far she`s not let me down! Morality and the consideration of others isn`t even considered nowadays in the teaching of some youngsters and people wonder why, well I`ll tell you, it`s because their parents were frigin` inconsiderate, immoral gutter scum as well! David Cameron say`s he`s going to address the issue but can`t really start until he can build a Tardis and go back in time to sort out these so called nowaday parents, he also needs to address the handing out of benifits for `career mothers` that have babies basically for money from the state, surely that a type of government funded soliciting! Part of the social structure of todays society is based on immorality and pandering to leaches and scum!

I'm looking forward to seeing what people are going to suggest if/when these riots continue to happen. Are we going to end up with a situation where only martial law will satisfy the right? And then will we end up with loads of complaints when total innocents get convicted/shot?
The British public mystify me. Not only do they complain about everything (I'm struggling to count the number of times it has been proclaimed that this country "has gone to the dogs"), but also they seem to lurch from one extreme to the other, from rage about "broken Britain" to rage about mistaken convictions, from whinging about encroachment on civil liberties (speed cameras, CCTVs etc) to whinging about how the police aren't tough enough, from social libertarianism to authoritarianism. I get the impression that certain groups of people in society are totally confused and don't know what they want, and surprisingly enough they are more likely to live in reasonably well-off suburbs rather than inner city slums. And they are much more of a danger to society than the kids breaking into JD Sports

You`d understand if your taxes were effected, ever been on the recieving end of what a mob can do? It`s pretty scary, did you see the woman that had to jump from her window? I`m not being far right just rational! The far left would reward them all and send them on holidays to Africa and the like, like that`s gunna teach them not to do it again! You have meet these scum bags to believe them mate, they don`t think like you do, they don`t give a shit about left or right just themselves. 1 Billion quid it`s gunna cost the tax payer to sort this mess out, any of them gunna help? They`ll be kicking off again when the area they live in is in decline because the council has had to spend money repairing the damage they caused that should have been for up dating the place!

Also, this was forwarded to me.......dunno why, but those Frogs have got it sussed.
Fw: How the French deal with riots. You might be interested in Sarko's attitude to the riots in the Paris Slums a year or two ago.
As you remember the yobs - blacks mostly- burned cars and caused about as much damage as the UK lot. Sarko brought in the CRS and beefed them with three regiments of the Foreign Legion in black coveralls and balaclavas to disguise them as CRS gendarmes. Having arrested some 2000 and hospitalised about as many more, Sarko went on national TV. doing his best 'De Gaule act, he said " As patriots and true Frenchmen we all deplore this bestial behaviour mainly from our underclass minoroties. On Legal advice, I announce that as from 0800hrs tomorrow, anyone arrested of this type of behaviour will be deported immediately and within the day to his or her land of ethnic origin - whether they were born there or not and so will the rest of that family. If you don't believe, just try me the military aircraft are on standby.
An amazing thing happened, by midnight on that day all was quiet, the riot had stopped and peace restored. It was the families and parents of the miscreants who stopped it, fearful of being sent back to the Cote d'Ivoire or whereever because of little Abdul or Jean Claude's behaviour. Following that, those miscreants arrested were made to go and clean up the streets, supervised by the CRS.
Where are the English politicians with big balls to repeat the dose?

I`m not being far right just rational! Can you genuinely be rational if you had been attacked by a mob, though? To me, something like that is more an emotional reaction to something that has happened, which is irrational Often it's better to judge from afar because you don't get caught up in the emotions of it - the most sensible comments on the riots that I've read have come from an Australian who I know from another forum. That's why I hate it when the media pander to the victims and say "oh look, isn't this terrible? Please feel sorry for them", because it's automatically setting it out into goodies vs baddies and placing it in an emotional context, which isn't what the news is supposed to be - it's supposed to be objective, especially the BBC who have also fallen into this trap It's not just rioting too. Recently near here in South Wales there was a 16 year old boy convicted of murdering his 15 year old ex-girlfriend. The girl's mother said that he should be locked away forever, and that he wasn't mentally ill, just "pure evil". Now I have the greatest amount of sympathy for her, but to react like that is totally irrational - by all means lock him up for a while, but potentially for 60-odd years? Just for something he did when he was a teenager? His life is pretty much ruined as it is - surely that's punishment enough. And surely if he is "pure evil", he must be mentally ill - to say otherwise shows a complete lack of understanding of mental illness. Or at least a lack of willingness to understand it

So basically what your saying is sod the victims, and rioters are really nice people and shouldn`t be labelled as the enemy! And as far as the 16 year old goes well if he`s ruined his life then maybe he should have thought about his actions before murdering someone, the poor soul! Just because some is a teenager doesn`t make them a saint you know, if your old enough to commit serious crime then your damn well old enough to suffer the punishment or should we just release all the teenagers in prison because it might spoil their lives! James I don`t get it!

Aussie Should have thought about his actions ? I think you'll find he did just that Aussie...for a couple of weeks at least. He weighed up the pros & cons & in the end decided that getting the free breakfast was the better deal. You can sort of understand the mother feeling a bit angry knowing her daughter has been battered to death with a rock so someone can get a free fry up. "A SCHOOLBOY murdered a former girlfriend after he was promised a free breakfast if he carried out the killing, a jury heard.
Rebecca Aylward, 15, was battered to death within weeks of the chilling bet with a friend". www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/Free-breakfast-offer-murder-15-year-old-court/story-12819941-detail/story.htmlOf course that Mother will be paying taxes to provide the lad with free breakfasts during his time in prison. It's a strange old irrational system.

The news - specifically the BBC - should be impartial They are all victims really. They'll all lose out
