On this site today he makes mention of City Link slagging the club off in the press. I've not seen anything of the sort myself. Anyone know what he is referring to?

The blog is for real, I see someone has posted about this site on there and we now have a link, not sure about being the Alternative TUFC Fans' Forum, but hey we got a link.
I think the writer of the blog needs to look at what he has written and its my view he should change it and fast.

Think that Gilbert needs to come out of his/her costume and explain what he/she has written. I may write from afar but my first thoughts are that the contribution is neither positive or helpful to the club. In fact I find it rather scurrilous and would like the club to review who they are 'employing' to wear this costume. Am I over-reacting or do others find this unpleasant?

midlandstufc I do not think you are over reacting at all, as you will know, I do know both sides of the story about why Sean pulled out of the sponsorship deal.
As far as I know, nothing has been resolved over the issues yet and I did hear that it was going to court, if that is the case, then Gilbert needs to have his wings clipped, or his beak at least.

don't think it is the real gilbert, the guy who currently is gilbert is bout 17/18 i thought, the diary sounds like its came from someone a lot more mature who either is really in the know or someone who has a grudge.

Thanks for that, I did wonder if it was the real gilbert, but thought the same as you after reading all the entries. Why someone would have a blog and use the name gilbert, if he was not does seem a bit strange to me.

don't think the real gilbert would be stupid to air such views as the blogger because he is so reconisable to everyone haha

In my view, Sean has shown admirable restraint in NOT slagging the club off in public. I'm sure he has been itching to put his side of the story, but full credit to him for reining in his natural instinct to tackle conflict head on. Whatever the rights and wrongs on either side - and I have not got a clue who's right or who's wrong - I think it is in the best interests of the club that there has not been a public bout of mudslinging in both directions.

I would agree with that, Jon. Good for both parties.
That blog looks reasonably good on first viewing, apart from the latest entry? Bit silly rather than getting hot under the collar about, though nonetheless unfair on Sean and Citylink.
It may be someone known as "wivelgull", who has a bit of a Gilbert 'thing', who runs it? (Though it may not be) Definitely older than 17/18 with some of the references.

I hate seagulls - there should be a mass culling of them 1.2 miles + from the sea.

Chelston Would your culling go so far as a re branding? Do you think we should diassociate ourselves from something that s**** on you from high, nicks your chips and generally causes a nuisance on the front? could I suppose name ourselves after another bird.......just off the top of my head a magpie and even play in black & white stripes. Now that would be forward thinking. buster
