Well just walked in the door after a week skiing in France Didn't you go the other week as well? I must confess that I did go in January which was intended to be my only ski holiday this year but then got persuaded into going on a cheap late availability deal to Val Thorens, with self catering keeping the cost down, and with us all being budding Jamie Oliver's we probably ate better than if we had ventured out to the well over-priced restauants. So missed 2-0 win over Stevenage and 5-0 win over Shrewsbury, and with two wins when I was away in January I suppose I could consider assisting the promotion bid by buggering off to the Alps again!! ;D

Didn't see that one coming. Having been at Lynton all afternoon you might as well have been on the moon. No phone signal and no radio signal meant that I was half way back to Barnstaple before I could get a radio signal. I could hardly believe that we had won 5-0! Not a bad day though and Lynton were drubbed 4-0 coutesy of hat trick from younger son as we replaced them at the top of the table.

I was thinking a 2-2 draw with a good debut for one of the loanees and a mixed afternoon for Robinson. I went to see Farnborough V Braintree Town and kept up with events on the old smartphone. I just have to convince myself that a drive up after work to Bury is a bad idea now. Mr Barclays will be very unhappy if I go. I quite like the new woman on the Football League show though Very slinky.

Didn't see that one coming. I don’t think any TUFC fan saw what ended up as a five nil thrashing against the team in third place in the league coming. But anyone who saw our second half display against Stevenage would have known that when we play the good passing game and do all we can to keep the ball in the opposition half, we stand a very good chance of scoring goals and winning games. Shrewsbury certainly are a good side and did look dangerous in the very early part of the game, so I don’t think it was the case we just beat a very poor side. As I said in my match report we just outworked them, out fought them and also outplayed them all over the pitch. After Benyon left us for pastures new, I wrote a post where I said I felt we had more goals us in the second half of the season than the first half of it. This was based on playing Billy kee, Jake Robinson and Zebs in advanced positions as they all have goals in them. My post was made before the arrival this week of two new loan strikers and what was so clear in yesterdays match was he had five players in advanced positions that are all capable of scoring goals. Add Stanley who will shoot if he gets the opportunity and it’s clear to see we now have a side that does have lots of goals in it. Paul Buckle can go on all he wants about playing one up front as was the case when Benyon was here, is not negative, but as far as I’m concerned it is and believe me its not what home fans want to watch or pay hard earned money to watch either. I also wrote another post where I used the word INTENT. A word as far as being a fan of any football club is important. It was very clear to see real INTENT to win yesterday’s game and fans warm to that and will come back for more of the same believe me. I’m not suggesting we have never ever not tried to win every game we have played in, but I do feel in many games that wonderful INTENT we saw against Shrewsbury has not been so evident and in some games where we just looked like we were far to happy and content to accept a single point from the game. We have talked so many times about how to get lost fans back, well the answer really is to get the product right on the pitch first and foremost. Good entertaining football played the way it was meant to be played (have I ever said that before) is what football fans will be happy to pay for and come and watch week after week. Yes we will always have to work harder to compete with the much bigger clubs who get much bigger gates and have far more money coming into their club. Add in our location and we then also know the problems we do have getting players to come down here. I was never a real lover of the lone system, much preferring to see the side that starts the season finish it. But I now know it’s the way it has to be at a club our size and it does allow us to add that extra quality that we really can’t afford. At the end of the day it really is all about winning, it’s all about providing good entertaining football even at the risk of losing a game or two or even three. When fans make the effort to go to games and part with their money, they want to see their team especially at home matches, putting on a show such as the one we witnessed yesterday. We are not going to see many five nil wins at home no matter how well we play or how much we keep the ball in the oppositions half and not in ours, but play with that sort of INTENT and desire and the word will get around we are not the same old same old Torquay United and one by one those lost fans will return.

Agree I didn't predict that result (had it down as 1-1 and a crowd of 2450) I run a competition at work with an Argyle Fan and a Swindon Fan.So great result and the crowd was UP on what I thought.Nice One.

Anyone remember Rochdale last season, the catalyst for the unbeaten/ no-one can score against us run? Is it happening again?

You're forgetting one thing though...our impending points deduction! If that didn't happen~I know it hasn't happened yet but i'm pretty sure it will do~I would agree with you and think we would just scrape into the play-offs! I hope to make it to Rotherham so will see you there. Say hello to your lovely missus for me!

We win 5-0, they only have one shot on target and Chelston makes one of our defenders man of the match . Well i wasnt there so take it they were all over us and we just got 5 on the break.

It was one of those games where you could pair any one from Stanley / Branston / Robinson. Not sure why Tomlin got MOM. Branston was immense at the back - "Thou shall not Pass". They only had one shot on target because of Branston ALL three need signing up for next year. What are they out of contract players next year?

I think you will find that Stanley and Branston will be here but not Robinson unfortunately.
Couldnt bloody believe it when i saw the final score as I originally was going to the game and having a carvery with some work mates and then had to cancel at the last minute.
