A tough week with three away games is not made any easier with a trip to this established league 1 side. In the previous round they won 3-0 away to Southampton after a poor start to the season which suggests that they just may take this competition seriously. However, they have lost their previous two matches against Plymouth and Dagenham so maybe not quite firing on all cylinders at present.
I'm sure that the good performance against Shrewsbury will do wonders for the confidence of the side but if we are to get some sort of result then the defence will have to be at their absolute best. Barring injuries, I would expect to see the same or a very similar side to that which started Saturday.
In light of the recent budgetary constraints, a run in a cup is very important and although we have done well in the FA Cup in recent years, this can't be relied upon and maybe we are now due to excel in this competition.

Difficult one this for Buckle...or at least it should be. He will no doubt put out his first team as he allways does. I remember him saying the loss at Southend was partially due to the fact that the team had played three difficult away games in one week...or at least that was my view of it. So if when he puts his first team out at Swindon, let's hope they can recover fully for the Crewe game! Because I would rather have three points on Saturday, than be in the next round of this certain trophy!  |

It's like owning a racehorse ~ all the little incomes from those small purse handicaps pay for the carrots! |

I reckon he'll give Macklin a go against Swindon.
We don't have the resources to rest either of our central midfield pairing, so I would expect them to start, with O'Kane in front of them as per Saturday.
I would like to see Benyon get a rest up top. And Ellis and Branston to start in the middle to assist in giving a little more practice to become what they were before Ellis' injury.
Personally, I wouldn't mind Rowe-Turner and Senda getting starts. Like others, I want 3 points on Saturday more than this scalp.

But it's going to be a damned sight more than last Tuesday brought in that's for sure! Most of these finals attract in the region of 40-50,000 crowds, so it's bound to be a windfall. |
