If you are referring to my post, the BBC is funded by the TV Licence. Our money, the £145.50 that is used to buy each licence and the majority of which is passed on to the BBC for their operating costs, has enabled them to staff their Online Sports Department with someone who believes that Danny Wilson is the manager of Torquay United, and who is too inept to research the fact that Damon Lathrope is out for at least two weeks with an ankle injury. Idiots.

Hmmm, not sounding too promising! Still, I would be happy if it allows players like Potter, LR-T, Senda, Carlisle, Charnock, Macklin and Gritton to get some additional match-time and perhaps give Bucks some ideas as to how some of them might fare in the league (in terms of match sharpness).
It's disappointing that it doesn't look like we'll be progressing in a competition that offers a little bit of cash when things to be so desperate but it is hardly the end of the world or anwhere near the serious position we would be in if we went-out of the FA Cup in the first round.

Never great to lose, but it was always a long shot to expect this competition to pay the bills this season, especially with two tough away draws.

After watching his mishap in the game at Shrewsbury I was thinking it was a good job Mark Ellis was taken to the County Ground in the team coach tonight as the Magic Roundabout outside would surely have proved too much for his brain cells!

Someone's wrong...................the TU Official site refers to "the wide open spaces" of the County Ground and the Football Ground Guide gives their pitch measurements as a mere 100x70 yards ~ quite a bit less than Plainmoor's 112x74! Maybe the reporter was fooled by the wide open spaces in the unopened stands on three sides of the ground.

Second best all over the park tonight I’m afraid. The difference in class between the teams was there for all to see. The result might have been different if Benyon had put away a one on one with their keeper inside the first thirty seconds! Moment later Kee had a chance but shot weakly straight at the keeper. The Gulls passed the ball well at times but more often than not it was side to side and then backwards as there was no outlet apart from the well marked |Benyon up front. We huffed and puffed and tried hard but with no end product and it has to be said that Swindon always had another gear if needed. The difference was that when we passed the ball it was all too easily read by their players and their ‘first touch’ was that much better than ours. The Swindon forward line held the ball up well and always looked like scoring. Danny Potter kept the score line down but it could have easily been four or five nil. It was a clean game with no really hard challenges all night and had at times the look of a pre season friendly with us as the cannon fodder! Crewe scored four goals away tonight which will be a sobering thought for Paul Buckle. Oh how we could do with a forward who has some speed and the ability to hold the ball up for Benyon or Kee. Final word on the game has to go to the Referee. It would have been no surprise to see him wearing a red Swindon shirt under his yellow one tonight! I believe he gave ONE free kick in our favour in 90 minutes of play. Such was the shock that even the Swindon supporters clapped when he awarded us the free kick!! That said we would not have scored tonight if we had played for a further 90 minutes! Positive side there were no apparent injuries. Apologies for the negativity but hard pushed the see any positives!

Now it is even more apparent why a player such as Scott Rendell was thought so vital by PB - pity about the financial constraints!

After watching his mishap in the game at Shrewsbury I was thinking it was a good job Mark Ellis was taken to the County Ground in the team coach tonight as the Magic Roundabout outside would surely have proved too much for his brain cells! If you were actually at the game rather than than basing your opinions on a 3 minute highlight you would know that he played really well after his mishap. Watching the game last night it was obvious Buckle left most people at home (Branston & Stevens). It was obvious Buckle wasn't really playing for a win last night just on his line up alone. I remember a few years ago the likes of Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool didn't want to play in the league cup, so on their websites they advertised the fact they were going to put their reserves out so traveling fans were not disappointed...........
