I don’t think it matters if Jean Charles de Menezes should or should not have been in our country at the time, the only thing to never forget is an innocent man lost his life.
One of the things I remember and why I'm so hesitant to trust the police with more power is the way they allowed the story about the 'barrier jumper' to go uncorrected for so long. By then of course many people had already made up their minds and never heard the real story.
A similar thing happened with Prince Charles the other night. The first report was that he had smiled throughout the attack. Where do these stories come from? That one was certainly dropped very quickly.
