Went to the Ageas Bowl yesterday and was good to see the Women regain their Ashes. Lydia Greenway this time with an unbeaten 80 odd, where before good knocks from Taylor, Knight and Edwards have won matches for us in the short format. Sweet revenge for the Aussie gamesmanship in the World Cup, which led to New Zealand qualifying in the latter stages instead of us.
Finch's knock was amazing and I doubt his record will be beaten for a good many years. Was like a man possessed and I couldn't see a great deal wrong with our bowling. For heaven's sake, the man hit one 6 when he was falling over! England did well to put on a performance after that. A chase of that sort seemed destined to end in us being all out, but fair play to Root and to Bopara for keeping it interesting. Was good to give Mitchell Johnson a bit of stick, his second and third overs very tight with 2-7, but something for the crowd to enjoy in his first and 4th with wides and no balls and 17 off each. Got to try and enjoy yourself whilst we were being hammered, somehow.

On the subject of Mitchell Johnson.....just been reading what allegedly he said...."I want to see fear in Englands batsmen eyes when I bowl at them"....I did titter when read that.....don't think he holds to many fears to us.....just more ammunition to give him some friendly sledging, ha ha ha ......si

Australia all out for 227 - surely we level the series from here?
