I think the coldest I've ever been at a Torquay game.................. I think this should be a thread in it's own right. we had to wait whilst they moved the body of an old guy who had died from the dressing room to the treatment room. Treatment room a tad too late I think Merse ... but I know what you mean

Treatment room a tad too late I think Merse ... but I know what you mean we'd have cacked ourselves if he had sat up and disappeared down the tunnel yelling "sort it out Buckle!" Talking of corpses ~ I'm off to join the old bat in bed!

The Bay has had a heavy overnight frost and looking out of my window the grass in my garden is very white. The sky looks clear so hopefully the sun will decide to make an appearance soon and start getting the air temperature up a bit.
The BBC forecast says for Torquay
A cold, frosty start with some bright spells. A few sleet or snow showers are expected at times first thing this morning, but becoming mainly dry later. A bright or sunny afternoon.
Temps at 6am -2c at 9am 0c at 12pm 4c at 3pm 4c and at 6pm 0c
Fingers crossed then that the pitch that I would expect is frozen right now, will be OK later, nothing has been said about a pitch inspection, so it must be thought it will be playable by 3pm

Temperature did drop to -2 last night but it is already 0.5 above freezing with the sun out so don't think there will be a problem. Since when did Torquay have all day frosts?

Good news on the weather front I'm glad you beat Stockport, edgely park looked like a quagmire on the news this morning, after the rugby game was played there last night. Ironically, we were due to play Stockport away today in our League fixture! my prediction is that you will take a 2 goal lead and we will get it back to 2-2 by 90 minutes!!

Albion boss Gus Poyet is anticipating a tough encounter against Torquay United in the FA Cup third round at Plainmoor on Saturday. Although the Gulls are sitting in the bottom half of League Two, they are showing good home form and after overcoming Albion's League One rivals Stockport 4-0 in the second round, Poyet is expecting a typically tight cup tie against the Devonshire club.
He told seagulls.co.uk, "It's going to be a tough game and very hard, but apart from that we need to prove we are a league above and produce it on the pitch.
"It's going to be a difficult game because it's away and they are going to be ready for us, so it's important that we are ready for them."It's just about keeping it going in training, being ourselves and going there to play our way."
Poyet insists Albion will be going to win on Saturday and has underlined the role that the substitutes have to play within the side."It's a different competition but I will take it seriously. We are going there to win the game.
"The subs will have a very important role for the competition and whether they get 30, 20 or ten minutes I want them to prove me wrong for not starting them."It's very important that the players understand that because when they are in the team they have to take their chance to stay there. Because if they don't someone else will come in and take their place.
"It's about a team and not 11 stars."Meanwhile, with the transfer window opening at midnight Poyet has been looking at bringing in new faces, but is determined to only bring in players that want to play for the club.
"There are a few new faces on trial, because people you trust send players they think will be good for the club and good for the league."A few are quite good but some are not as good as you think, so we'll keep trying. But the players have to be willing to come here which is very important for me. "Nowadays football has become too much about money, but I want them to feel this is the right place for them."

Do you live on a hill Dave, or are you pissed this early? How many people living in Torbay can make the claim they do not live on a hill yes I do live on a hill and after the events on the 27th December 1979, I have only ever lived on a hill.

My lift is late in snow dusted Surrey. Glad to hear its sunshine in the Bay. 2-1 today. Mark my words.
