Do you recon all that sprint training was going to help because they have a running track, I hate soulless grounds like that, mind you it`s only a stop gap till their proper ground is built! The sooner the better really for everyone!

Yorkgull, I moaned about the pricing as well having passed their gates on the long hike to gate n. But I was put in my place by a steward outside who reassured me/insisted that both sets of fans paid £18. The prices we saw were for the Sheffield Eagles rugby team who ground-share.

Talking of prices, your damned if you do and your damned if you don`t if your Torquay United, people have moaned in the past that there is not enough done by the club to try attract fans to games so the board offer discount season tickets and get pilloried for it even though a great number of people took up the offer, now people are moaning that the £5 discount voucher is costing the club too much as well and they would rather the club kept it, o.k it`s a nice gesture to give it back to the club but why moan? This is not about what`s on this site I overheard people talking about it last night and read some stuff about it somewhere else and just feel the club can`t win with some of our so called supporters!

im intrigued on what nico's father in law had to say.could anyone en-lighten me How much is the coffee? ;D ;D ;D Nothing scintilating but just "strange" bits---I was only "over hearing" perhaps the full story will come from my buddy who he was talking too. As a bit of an aside--Wigston mentioned in his report about "our scout"----does anyone know who he is (sorry to show my ignorance). Smartly dressed/in his 60's/lives in Sheffield/Wakefield and spoke to a lot of people including ourselves. Strange thing was he said he joined the Club "with" PB and then gave the "Sills shouldnt have left/Hargreaves shouldnt have left etc etc" speach. Bit strange for "an employee" or "PB's mate"...anybody enlighten me?

Probably some fantasist Longie, ask yourself would any bona fide self respecting club employee sit amongst the away fans with that shite viewing position? Would they "speak to a lot of people" Would they even bother identifying themselves? I think you would find that such a person in reality would utilise their Football League accreditation and take advantage of the home club's seating provision for them. As for players' fathers in law gossiping to fans any player who has such misfortune to be related to such a character wants to change his bloody partner pronto....................it's not exactly conducive to professionalism is it?

Not the greatest game you will ever see but sod that as we got a point which not many thought we would get. After a terrible trip up dodging the accidents on the motorway we fianlly arrived about an hour before kick off.
The view from the away end is poor and very hard to judge exactly whats going on down the far end in the paddy field, also hard to pick up the players.
We started brightly (again) but two warnings from them with the post being hit were not adhered to and another sloppy goal conceded. We werent without efforts on goal ourselves and Ellis/Wroe both had thier keeper diving around.
At half time we really needed the midfield to get stuck in to them more but Thompson had a poor game in their and the armband seems to have made Wroes performances not quite up to his usual standard. Rowe-Turner came on for Camara (who is so off the pace) and done really well and look assured at left back.
Centrally Branston and Ellis dealt with the Rotherham front line easily enough but we were grateful that Rotherham never really had a sustained bit of pressure during the game.
As the half went on we had more and more of the game but few chances until Barnes smacked one over when he should have scored. Ellis did find the net with a header but unfortunately it landed in a practice net about 40 yards behind the actual goal, still got a sarcastic cheer though!
Benyon came on and gave his typical sub appearance. Robertsons throw was flicked on by Ellis (i think) and Benyon was there to hook the ball in....jubilation in the sgtands far away!!
Apart from one chance when Le Fondre should have scored Bevan had nothing to do and we saw through the remaining time easily enough.
A mixed performance from us but a vital point gained. positives were Branston, Ellis and Rowe Turner in defence and Zebroski, Benyon and Barnes up front. Although Barnes missed that sitter he worked hard up front on his own with some poor passing to him.
The new winger looked ok early on but second half seemed to disappear but then got injured so dont know how bad that will be.
The journey home was much quicker and of course happier...

According to todays HE "On-loan Southampton winger Jake Thompson also missed the match". Now is that missed or sent back?

We will know tomorrow I recon when the team sheet is read out, doubt it would be an illness as they made it clear Smith was unwell but just said nothing really about Thomson, I think he showed a better attitude against Parkway than previous games recently as he tracked back and didn`t have lazy body language, seemed to be more up for it and was genuinely dissapointed if he got something wrong rather than just drop his shoulders and walk back! I like Jake as a player a lot but he will wreck his career if he keeps getting big headed and thinking he is the man.
