This is so wrong, listening to the game when I'm going to Rotherham tomorrow! Very surprised that Smithy's missing tonight. The moment I saw the lad from Swindon signed I thought that was the end of Thomson. Shame but I think his mentality just can't cope with being in a losing side. Come on United!

Half Time
It must feel a bit strange for our fans having all the fans in just the one stand and our players must also find it strange having to play in a ground with three sides of it empty. We started well and forced an early good save from the Rotherham keeper.
It sounded on the radio that we looked good going forward at the start of the half but were a bit poor in defence and after two shots hitting each post we gave away what seemed a soft goal as a cross looked like it was going to be dealt with by Bevan or Mansell only for a Danny Harrison to step in and score.
Not heard Barnes name mentioned too much and do feel we need to bring on Stevens and get Zebs back up front with Barnes. It could be a lot worse and we could have found ourselves even further behind and sure got a bit of luck that stopped that happening.
A point would be very welcome from a game we might be expected to get nothing from and we are still very much in this game but do need to keep things tight at the back and try to create a few more chances than we did in the first half.

Yeh with you on that Dave but the continuity in the side has gone with more changes once again enforced or otherwise icant see us getting back in the game. Probabaly 1-0 again though I live hope.

I think they'll have to get used to it at Plainmoor soon with results going as they are!!!
I just don't think he can cope with having to pass to a team-mate - he just seemed to want to take it on the entire opposition - sadly when the ball was often 3 feet in front of him it invariably ended in the opposition taking possession back. I really enjoyed watching him to begin with, but he has deteriorated as his spell wore-on. The Hereford and Port Vale performances were very poor - the amount of times he left the full-back exposed or ran it too many times into a dead-end. Mind you, I think that he had been well watched by the opposition scouts as at the start of his spell he was running into huge amounts of space and thrived on it. He's got potential - but I don't think he'll be playing for Soton much - I think he'll need regular football in the BSP or League 2 to help develop his all-round game.
I wasn't expecting anything from the game, but with things so tight at the bottom I just hope we don't get hammered to reduce our goal difference.

I gave up on making it to Sheffield. Getting from St Pancras to Highgate took almost an hour and the M1 was gridlocked from the M25 junction until I waved the white flag and turned back home at Junction 9. I do love a game up north but there's also a time to be sensible. Come on the boys! You should have just popped around the back of your work and watched Anthony's A Class FC beat the League leaders Westway United 4-2 and go 3 points clear at the top of the table tonight Chris. Funny sort of game with them not really very fluid tonight, disjointed and defensively naive to go in 1-2 at half time. Then Anthony and 3 other fellow Arsenal lads combined in a brilliant build up from their own half for their equaliser that was lliterally walked into the net and the win was sealed shortly after with another high speed counter attack and a crashing shot. A game for the Arsenal Development squad tomorrow morning and now he's been asked to go into A Class training at lunchtime after that for a run through tonight's game; so I can't see me making it to the Beaverie tomorrow.

We'll win 3-2 I'll have a pint of whatever you've been drinking ....I just thought i'd try and predict the most unlikely score i could think of and try and convince myself it may happen. Little bit of positive thinking......in this sea of negativity and doom. p.s Heineken Export

Hoffenheim v Gladbach 2-2
Harry Smith would moan at me for hours in my Chelston days if a shot went wide, perhaps he could do a job at Plainmoor!
Danny Harrison has been the key player for most of the match (Sporting Life text), who is his opponent?
Benyon der Torjäger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
