It was a hard game, well deserved win made worse by the referee.
Roscos D`Sanes sending off was when he retaliated to someone by slapping him, which he by the letter of the law wasnt right but understandable. The ref was awful in my mind as there were too many fouls that he should have given us but instead gave them to Oxford.
The singing was good today and with my drum I hope it helped bt will let others decide. There were a few songs like the one guided at the referee which had the C word in which I didnt like but I cant stop them, though I would if I could.
A couple of incidents involving fans in the ground happened: At the entrance to Boots `n Laces, near half-time, Oxford United fans tried charging the doors down to gain access but were stopped by the stewards and the other incident was when there were about40 Oxford fans in the Popside near the away end and there was a scuffle involving them and Torquay fans; those Oxford fans were evicted but I dont know about the Torquay fans. Hopefully both clubs look into this and sort it out as we we dont need this and niether dose Oxford or football for that matter. Did anyone else see these incidents?

Yes Joe you led the singers well with your drum and I was glad you listened to uncle Dave and kept away from the trouble I was unaware of any fighting etc I only saw the Oxford fans in their own end, pointing etc like they do. I did notice that near the end we had police in the corner by the end of the Popside, still those events are best forgotten. What we should remember about today is the way the team battled and earned their place in the next round. Going down to 10 men in a cup tie against a team like Oxford, you could have expected us to lose the game. I still think something needs to be done about some of the singing Joe, it is mainly the young ones on the popside who are doing it, as I said the F word is bad enough, why they started using the C word is beyond me, There are families and young children on the popside, its not right that they should have to listen to that.

To confirm, yes just after the first goal about 40 oxford fans made themselves known by singing oxford songs. they were in the pop side at the far end. Tufc fans behaved well and there were no actual punches thrown, although some of the oxford fans walked into the tufc fans clearly looking for trouble. It was unpleasant and there were kids etc around, but it could have been a lot worse.
Usual gutless burberry wearing cowards who hunt in packs and find it fun to intimidate and threaten real fans. Boring boring boring.
I have to say i think the stewards were poor in their response, it took them too long to see what was happening.
In the second half the stewards sat three stewards in a line on the steps in the exact place where they would have been seperating the oxford/tufc fans in the first half! Talk about bolting the stable door!
Bring on Chelsea away (i will arrange a loan now)

I see Benyon's goal has just been voted 'Goal Of the Day' on ITV's FA Cup highlights program.
Sheer Class.

And to think there were some who felt he would not make it even in this league I better own up to a comment i made about Benyon after the Tiverton pre season game, before Chipnicker grasses me up. I said he "lacked a killer finish", how wrong was I. To be fair as soon as the 'real' league games started he has been impressive in the games that he has been involved in, none more so than Wrexham. He has continued to improve and now deserves a place in the starting line up.

To be fair tufc01 there was a time he looked real lightweight, got pushed aside far to easily, but I have never thought he did not know where the goal was.
Merse has highlighted the work he and the the trainers have put in at the training sessions and I think we are now seeing the results.

I saw Benyon's second goal on ITV last night.............it was simply class! Listening to Bucks' after match interview was revealing as to how he and the team where mentally prepared for that early change even before the kickoff. It's through the hard work ethos (Benyon's development is a good example) team spirit and selflessness; and managerial dexterity that we owe this fantastic record breaking run. Only just over two thousand local fans turned up? Disappointing and indicative of the combined situation of the Torbay economy (mortis) attitude (unforgiving) and mentality (negative). The ones who do go are fantastic, and they travel away in percentages far larger than clubs who's fans only need to accumulate a fraction of the "air miles"ours do....................perhaps the "stay aways" are waiting for that laughable bypass?

I try and start of songs that dont involve sweraing like `Yellow Army`, `We love you Torquay` etc but then others start of the songs that involve the swearing and then everyone else joins in. I think the only way to stop the swearing is to start of the sogs that dont involve swearing before the bad songs start.I`ll try to do that for you Uncle Dave.

A fully deserved win for us yesterday. Even though everything went against us. Windup clowns like Billy Turley have no place in football. The guy is a mediocre keeper at best and a A grade knobhead, like most of his colleagues. I've rarely seen a opposition team display as little "togetherness" as this mob did. It took James C**tstable 85 mins to get motivated enough to go looking for the ball. Lewis Haldane didn't fancy the game one bit after Muzzie Carayol knocked him into an advertising board. He carried on "gamely" for 30 mins before deciding the weather conditions weren't condusive to prolonging his bottled tan. For a good 50 minutes of this game it was ten committed footballers against 11 cheats plus that jellyfish of a referee with his hairy armed assistant sidekick who was just as stupid as the ref was!
An excellent 2nd half performamce. Special mentions go to a rock solid defence with Woods and Hodges having far to much know, Mansell for putting in superb performance. Wroe and Hargreaves showed Oxford what a midfield performance should be about and Sills battled away upfront against two centre halves intent on fouling him. Benyon looked dangerous and the second goal was top class.
Oxford got what they derserved. Absolutely nothing.

I am surprised that no one has mentioned yesterday's comedy moment. For the benefit of those who weren't there.....
On the hour mark Benyon cut in from the left and was brought down on the edge of the box. The inept referee didn't think to wait to see there was any advantage and blew immediately. The ball ran on to another Gull (Maybe Wroe?) who lashed a tremendous shot against the bar which bounced down in the six yard box and in to the net off Turley's back.
A shame it didn't count as I am sure the fans would have enjoyed reminding Turley of his contribution for the remaining 30 minutes or so!

ricardo, I really could not believe the ref did not play the advantage, yes Benyon was down on the floor, but he seemed to poke the ball toward Wroe. He hit a cross the ball and it served to the right, hitting the crossbar as you rightly say, before coming down and going in off that back of Turley'.
The ref at other times watched to see if there was any advantage, but just wanted to blow up far to quickly this time.

The ref waved play on and just a the shot happened the ref blew for the free-kick. I saw it with most of the other pop-siders and no one could belive it.

The was a bit more to the comedy moment than you said. To be fair to the ref there was an original foul on a tufc player which he played on. We had the advantage (good call) and then there was another foul which he called a free kick. It should have stood as a goal but you see very few refs allowing advantage two fouls to play on. My impression was that turley had heard the whistle but maybe he was just trying to look cool to spare his blushes.
