Here we go again, is this another must win game? well we do need to get a run going if we have are to get a play-off place. This is the sort of game our team has shown they can win, its often been the games where we might expect a defeat, that the team has put in a good performance. I do think we will see and end to the 4-3-3 for this match and would expect it to be 4-4-2, with Sills and Green starting upfront. I would not be to unhappy to see Green start with Christie, but I can't see Sills being dropped to the bench. The back four will stay the same and Robertson will be on the bench and I would not be surprised to see Dsane and Carlisle start. One thing that stood out playing 4-3-3, was that Nico got exposed far to much with no cover in front of him and I'm sure Bucks will want to make sure that does not happen in this game. I'll go for a 2-1 win to us, well you got to keep believing. As I put the date as 2008 and not 2009, I have had to do an edit on all posts made on this thread.Dave R

Can't really fault your reasoning Dave but think that Carayol would be desperately unlucky not to start Robertson and Ellis may be inching closer to a starting berth. Anything from this match will set us up nicely for what should be a run of winnable fixtures in March. Goals from Green, Mansell, Sills and Hargreaves? ;D

I would be happy with a point. However we might just pinch it like we did at Cambridge...

Ah.........to pinch a point......to get three....heaven!!!! But then again we are in front of the cameras? ?? We wait in anticipation for the 5.45 kick off........ But certainly the FG game has raised much debate over not just the quality of our play, letting in goals........and then making subs that may or may not be correct........and the crowd's reaction to a ref that may not be up to the mark.......and the crowd with many over the top swear words......and the discussions with the stewards......... And this was just in 90 minutes over one evening!!!!!!!!! A win at Oxford will help to paper over the cracks...........or do we need to change now. Great debate and once again Merse is being so dimplomatic (just like him!!!). It way we join in and read the forum and help to continue our passion for TUFC!!!!

Any idea *why* this is a 5.45 kick off? I don't care - it's a 15 minute walk to the ground for me, but a little annoying for everyone else.

Chris Not to sure, but I would expect its because its on Setanta and that is the time they want the game to start, maybe they have a Prem game on earlier in the afternoon.

Was this the game that was due to be played on the Tuesday night (on Setanta) but was moved back to Saturday for whatever reason? I may have made this up. Obviously with the game being on television, it can't kick off at 3pm so it was either between 5 and 6 or around midday. Personally, I prefer the early evening kick off.

This will be a real telling weekend and feel we will either put in one of those top of the table performances that make us think we will walk into the paly offs or as I expect with our current form role over and have all of our weaknesses cruelly exposed. Didnt think they looked a bad side when we beat them in the cup and it has turned out that they are certainly not as bad as some make out and would be some points ahead of us now without their points deduction. Time to get some cosistency from individuals from now until the end of the sesason instead of the consistently inconsistent performances of late.

....a big game this one, we could really do with a win to boost the confidence of the side.....you'd have to say though, that a draw would be more than acceptable. Depends on which TUFC turn up on the day. The clinical, professional one that we have seen often on our travels this season or the nervous, slightly weighed down with expectaton one that has rather stumbled along over the last month or two. A little bit of good ol' fashioned lady luck that has deserted us a little recently wouldn't go a miss either .

where is Zebroski when you need him? Brilliant performance last year, boy do we need someone else to step up to the plate!
Ex-oxford boys to come to the fore: Green, Mansell and Hargreaves

I'm sure we will have some members who will be at the game and so we should get some good match reports, but as the game is on TV many more will be able to watch it and be able to post their views on the game.
Its a TV game and we have often not performed in front of the cameras. that said we have on more than one occasion raised our game to a high standard, when we have played teams from a higher league and ones who might be expected to beat us.
Lets hope we can look a good side on the TV and feel proud whatever the result, its going to be a hard game, but this is football and anything can happen.

A draw would be a achievement today. I'm gonna to watch it on the box. I've never seen us win there and I once blew my top there one year at Marriott and McGlinchey after they did their level best to gift Oxford another goal, then I got stuck in the car park for an hour afterwards, so I vowed that I would never again set foot in that ghastly horrible 3 sided stadium built on pikey land.

The Kassam's not for me either...................a horrible dump where the "crowd" feel like peas rattling around in a drum. Over priced, badly located and a bunch of fans who aren't too (let's say) quality either. I was there one year when they started the second half without any warning to the punters down below in the refreshment areas................no "bell" no PA; and we missed a Gulls goal. I went fecking ballistic and the stewards thought it was a huge joke; so for the past two occasions I have used TV coverage as a means to withhold my entry money! In fact I don't know of any CGs who are going today even though it's only a few miles away which tells a story I guess - don't worry though, we'll all be out in force at Grays on Tuesday.

I shit myself anytime the SATANta cameras are about, in order for me to be convinced they are not bad luck then surely it`s our turn to win a game wilst they film it. Kind of want some one to blame already is probably what your thinking, but no, you couldn`t be more wrong! I for once am gagging to be proved WRONG! Nervous as hell!
