....Got back an hour or so ago and I'm still wondering why i drove up to watch the game live when, like most of us i fork out for Setanta every month just in case we're on away from home......guess i needed the buzz of the live game.
Hadn'T been to the kassam for 3 or 4 years and yes I'd forgotten what a an absolute soulless dustbin that whole area is........i mean a stadium on a business park, how there fans must long for the old manor ground days....and yes i got caught in the car park for nearly 45 minutes....as usual!
They say little things please little minds and i must admit that i was mightily impressed that i found that i could lock and unlock my car from the comfort of my grandstand seat, it brightened up a rather drab 1st half anyway.......i now realise why they only built 3 sides to that ground .
I shall try to stay up till 2 am to watch the re run on Setanta as you're just too far away form the action.......none of us there had a clue on the merits of either sending off and Roscoe's was virtually in front of us.
Great result.......well done to Benyon for a couple of fine opportunistic strikes, he is a different player from the bench, with other injuries and suspensions now he is sure to start the next few games, lets hope he can now do the business for the 90.
A terrific performance from our back 5, that shut them out perfectly.
Lovely to see the mood of the Oxford fans change from complete confidence before the game, to complete rage and frustration during it and complete resignation after it.......apart from one middle aged idiot who, whilst stuck in the car park jam, took offence to a young TUFC fan walking in front of his stationery car and for some reason got out and threw a few wild hay-makers along with a barrage of foul mouthed abuse......to be fair even the Oxford fans around the incident were embarrassed for him and told him so.
...Another win at Grays on tues and we'll be well on our way.
