Stuartb, I can't accept that if we don't get something out of our group of strikers then we don't want Bucks to be signing any more. I would like to see a decent midfielder along the lines of Danny Hollands, Lloyd Kerry or Richard Kell in his prime alongside Hargreaves. is this the point that I start asking for Alex Russell to return? wroe has a habit of disappearing. what will we do without Hargreaves for his ban?Maybe win a game!

Rob the match stats show we had thirty shots etc, so thats one goal in every ten tries, I think its one in three in the top flight, so maybe we still don't have the answer yet. ;D

I believe that the 1 in 3 ratio is goals to shots ON target, so in that case yesterday we were actually above par. However, for me the more worrying aspect is the shots OFF target, 12. As i mentioned in a previous post we seem to be struggling more with actually hitting the target and making the goalkeeper have to do something. We have seen some almost comical shooting from 10 yards over the last 3 home games. One of the reasons that i prefer Benyon to Green is because he is supposedly the best 'finisher' at the club and whilst he has struggled with other parts of his game, what we need right now is someone to actually shoot (rather than try walking the ball into the net), hit the target. As Beavon showed on Tuesday night, you can barely touch the ball for 87 minutes, be completely anonymous yet score and still be generally acknowledged as the best striker in the league. On the subject of shooting more, i thought that Christie on Tuesday night showed some promise on the shooting front. He was very direct and that is something we need to see more of.

The official stats show 30 attempts at goal. When you say official stats, where do they come from?? How do i find them. The reason i ask is not to dispute how many shots there were but i like to know these 2 stats as i believe that this is one of the better indicators of how dominant, or not, a team is. If i miss a game and i read that we were unlucky, or should have won etc etc, i use this to see if it backs up the claims that we should have won. I know they say that there are "Lies, damned lies and statistics", but they do give a rough idea. Another reason is that i have seen 3 different sets of figures for yesterdays attempts.
