jerry you are so spot on with your post, apart from Sills we now have no one else who looks like scoring goals by heading from corners and set pieces. It was for that reason I have said before that Ellis should be playing, the problem is just who do you leave out, to make room for him.

I did point out what I saw happen in yesterdays match and that was Nico having the ball at his feet with time to decide what to do with the ball. Often Dsane made up Nico's mind for him by just standing near him, not making a run forward to give Nico any other options and he just waited for the ball to sail over his head. So Nico then just put the ball up field and out wide, forcing Green to move out from the middle,to try and win the ball. Of course that could be construed as Dsane committing the full back forward to mark him freeing space for Green to run into behind. Nicho then has a choice of ball - short to Roscoe's feet or long into the channel for Green. Carlisle plays the same way as Roscoe so you can see a pattern emerging of the manager's choosing. The problem comes when Green has run his legs off, Benyon comes on and you have replaced an intelligent player with a rather gormless one; albeit one who CAN occasionally pull rabbits out of hats with his striking.

I would agree Carlisle being subbed and going 4-3-3 might often be a better option if we are chasing a result, but you'd want a bit more steel in midfield if you ever started with something more experimental than a straight Benyon for Green swap. Indeed you arguably need more steel if it's just for 10/15 minutes. Though it's beginning to seem if we don't go for something along the lines of Jon's or my suggestion, we are going to stick as we are and keep our fingers crossed as it aint long before this window shuts. With Slade and Dario Gradi looking at Beavon that's seemingly a non-starter now and Ashley Barnes seems to be performing partly because of his partnership with the other Argyle lad, which I'm sure the parent club will be content with rather than having him on the bench here.

I would agree that the current centre back pairing is one of the reasons we are scoring less and in Woods case - he was paired with Taylor in a quite successful side the returns then from those two were minimal. Woods and Hodges aren't particularly tall but in the case of Todd (who isn't that big either) he's more dangerous because of the aggressive attitude he has towards getting to the near post first and such gets his share of goals from corners. Woodsie had probably the least difficult chance to score on Saturday but missed the target.................oh well!

Still recon Green ain`t doing it, whether it`s the fact that he is being used incorrectly or not I don`t know but something has got to change, wish I had the answer. Results business requires results and they just ain`t happening. We should aquire a goal scorer before the window shuts so our Mr.Buckle has got a bit more to work with me thinks!

Who is available aussie?that is the problem even if we could afford to carry an even bigger squad, play Green in the middle and start using the wingers better, so Green and Sills will be in the box and goals will come.

Dunno Dave I`m not a scout but I would be noseing around Home Park and Bristol a bit looking mainly at Championship players that need to get some match practice in or recovered injured players in a similar boat obviously on loan, what they have might rub off on some of our lads, like I said earlier I wish I had the answers. We employ poeple to do this kind of stuff where are the results from their supposed imput?

aussie we may have the answer already here, we have young Plummer from Bristol City, but we do need to give him a go, maybe Bucks has not seem enough in training to give him a start, but I think he is worth taking the risk over and giving him a game, the Lewes game might be ideal.

We won't be seeing John Milton back and please don't ask why I can only think as I said that he has not shown enough in training to make Bucks believe that playing him will improve the team. Mind you he came here to get games and I don't think he will want to stay to long if he gets no action.

Maybe I got his name wrong mate but I thought Milton was that big bald scout that we had, you couldn`t play him in anything he`s about twenty stone!
