play Green in the middle and start using the wingers better, so Green and Sills will be in the box and goals will come. I think you have hit the nail on the head with this comment Dave. Green is no doubt proving to be an ideal target man and can hold the ball up well, but a lot of the time diagonal balls are played for him to run onto in the corners. Not going to score many from there! I am no fan of Dsane, as I have said before. I think he is totally lazy and uncommited to the cause. How often have you seen him slowly dawdling back after an attack (often)and how often have you seen him run at the fullback and beat him (seldom). More often than not he just passes the ball back to Nicholson who then thumps it into the penalty area. We need Green to be playing off Sills, not being another front target man. We seem to be playing two target men with noone to feed off them. Neither Wroe or Hargreaves get forward quick enough to feed off them, as per Lampard or Gerrard. That only leaves Dsane and Carlisle who quite often pop up in and around the penalty area where they score their few goals. I would like to see Adams given a game or two instead of Wroe and leave the battling to Hargreaves. We have to try something different. We cannot afford to hope the goals will come with the present system. Remember the criticism Buckle got last season for not changing the system? He is in danger of being accused of the same thing this year.

Adams is certainly not a player who is going to feed off the strikers ala Lampard/Gerrard! He's more a Ray Wilkins type!!
The closest player we have to what you want would surely be Tyrone Thompson.

What you're describing is known as "playing the channels" and is utilised to attempt to draw big commanding central defenders out of their comfort zone and into the exposed areas behind their fullbacks. How you can claim Buckle doesn't "change systems" is beyond me...................only in the last two matches have we deployed totally different formations and methods of play................and the "totally lazy" was scoring his eighth goal of the season froma supporting role of the main striker. We are playing some pretty efficient football at the moment with just a little bit more "devil" required up front.................I agree with Capitalgull that the recent activity of Argyle regarding Barnes could well be significant as far as we're concerned!

I agree with Capitalgull that the recent activity of Argyle regarding Barnes could well be significant as far as we're concerned! Judging by this, I somehow doubt that we will be signing Ashley Barnes anytime soon! www.pafc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10364~1537989,00.html A missed opportunity perhaps, as I believe we had him on trial with us a couple of months back - when it seemed as though Sturrock was keen to offload him, perhaps even on a permanent basis? Anyway he has done very well since, as we found out to our cost, on loan at Eastbourne - and it appears is even featuring in the Manager's first team plans down at Argyle.

I guess those of us (including me) who are urging Bucks to sign another striker/onion sack man should have a little more faith. Just look at the City fans who were howling for Tisdales head after they sold Mackie. Now he's a God.

Apologies for bumping back to the top but think this is serious now....goals win matches and gain points so how are we going to do this?

Drop Sills for a start, he needs a freshener (rest for a couple of weeks) and some tactics that work at this level with the players at our disposal, I think there good enough just not the way its put together at the moment.

Stuartb, I can't accept that if we don't get something out of our group of strikers then we don't want Bucks to be signing any more.
I would like to see a decent midfielder along the lines of Danny Hollands, Lloyd Kerry or Richard Kell in his prime alongside Hargreaves.

NO. we would be better putting Bevan up front!! He's the only bugger who can score of late. PS: Are you banned after 5 yellows in the second half of the season? If so, then I guess it will be Thompson.
