Sutton have Hartlepool in their last but one game but with the top 3 position being important both teams should want to win it whether going for title or not. I was concerned that this game could end up a dead rubber with one of the sides resting players for the play offs, but as you point out the nature of the play offs in this league do give a distinct advantage to those clubs who finish higher (unlike in the league). So seems likely that this game will still have something riding on it for both sides.

I think Hartlepool will win this game. Whether that is a good thing for us remains to be seen.

It would be great to have Wright,Kimpioka and Whitfield all fit. I reckon GJ has been planning for missing out on top spot to have as many back and fresh to face a tough play off competition as I doubt even he would have imagined we would have had such an impressive run of results. Best to get them back when really 100% ready and very soon I hope woul dbe a massive bonus.

Sutton play tomorrow and like us Stockport keep winning but Hartlepool lose against Bromley. This means a top three finish is starting to look likely and actually we cannot finish below fourth place so for the first time we are guaranteed at least a good play off place.
1) TORQUAY: Average opponent league position 12.25 Number of top 7 opponents - 2 Current points: 76 Max points 88
8th May Torquay United v Bromley (7) 15th May Stockport County (3) v Torquay United 22nd May Torquay United V Barnet (22) 29th May Altrincham (17) v Torquay United
2) SUTTON: Average opponent league position 14.16 Number of top 7 opponents - 1 Current points: 72 Max points 90
4th May Notts County (10) v Sutton United 8th May Sutton United v Weymouth (18) 11th May Sutton United v Woking (20) 15th May Maidenhead United (12) v Sutton United 22nd May Sutton United V Hartlepool (4) 29th May Barnet (22) v Sutton United
3) STOCKPORT: Average opponent league position 12.00 Number of top 7 opponents - 1 Current points: 71 Max points 83
11th May Stockport County v Dagenham (11) 15th May Stockport County v Torquay United (1) 22nd May Stockport County V Woking (20) 29th May Yeovil (16) v Stockport County
4) HARTLEPOOL: Average opponent league position 11.75 Number of top 7 opponents - 1 Current points: 70 Max points 82
8th May Hartlepool v Maidenhead United (12) 15th May Aldershot (15) v Hartlepool 22nd May Sutton United (2) V Hartlepool 29th May Hartlepool v Weymouth (18)
Form Table for top 7 where they finish if they replicate their previous run of games.
Club Points Now, Form Points, Total Points
1) Torquay........76...........10...........86 2) Stockport......71...........12...........83 3) Sutton..........72...........10...........82 4) Hartlepool.....70............9...........79 5) Bromley........58...........12...........70 6) Wrexham......58...........11...........69 7) Halifax..........62............6...........68

I see Stockport play Dagenham next week. Daggers are top of the ‘last 5’ form table, Having won all 5.

I see Stockport play Dagenham next week. Daggers are top of the ‘last 5’ form table, Having won all 5. As our team have found out to their cost, not an easy team to play against or break down. Stockport have the advantage of not playing on Saturday for this game but that advantage then transfers to us for the following Saturday.

So let me get this straight, please point out if I've misunderstood.
You have the Gulls getting 10 points from 12 available. 1 of those games is away at Stockport who you've got taking 12/12. Meaning they have beaten us, so we could only have 9 not 10, assuming we won the other 3.
I'm either wrong or your analysis is meaningless drivel. I'm sure I could find some other anomalies if I could be arsed to look.

You have to read the whole thing DTG. The projected points is based ONLY on the points gained by each club in the last sequence of games depending how many the club has left. So with Torquay with 4 games left it is based on the last 4 which was 3 wins and a draw. Stockport won there last 4 games.
It is only a guide and overall is probably more accurate than somebody trying to predict the result of every forthcoming game. ⚽️

Yes Stef, I get that. But if Stockport get 12 we can only get 9 which means the predicted table is meaningless. You would have to have table for all the scenarios, which this one isn't. We would both end up on 83 points.

Yes I know the total points is impossible for Torquay and Stockport because we play each other. It is made impossible because both has such good form. It is only a form guide though and of course nobody is saying that is how it will end up (it can't). Rob rjd started the thread merely as a list of forthcoming fixtures for the promotion challengers. Somebody then put up a projected end table based on predictions. Rob then put up a table based only on form over the last number of games equivalent to the number of games that club had left, and has continued that after each round of fixtures. It does throw up anomalies but it is only a guide. Nice to be one of the clubs in the list, although I suppose if we weren't there wouldn't be a thread. 😂⚽️

Sounds like the same logic and weird science that the Climate Change loons use.

Sounds like the same logic and weird science that the Climate Change loons use. Nice. Personally, I blame Chelston who asked me to try and extrapolate the figures. This is my way of getting out of predicting games and looking solely at form. Actually going back through this thread, this method has underestimated slightly what the teams will get as form has picked up partly due to certain teams fielding their under 12s or similar. As we come to the last few games, this method does starts to breakdown as not enough games to give a reliable form guide so I will update Sutton’s form guide tonight as that is the last 5 but publish the last six form guide on Saturday.
