Stockport drew and Notts County and Chesterfield both lost. That’ll do. Hartlepool hit 7 and Sutton kick off later.

No threat of relegation is having an affect on performances and results especially with no home crowd to get on the players backs.. You can be sure the games would be tighter if there was that threat. Up to us now on Tuesday to keep up with the pace at the top.

More of the same wouldn’t go amiss as Sutton’s run in is looking like a comfy title run in barring Hartlepool’s last game against them.

Results yesterday were bit of a mixed bag for us. The two teams we need to catch, both won and won well. The teams directly behind us seemed to slip up one way or another so consolidates our top three position with Stockport being the main threat to that. So updating each team's run in, Chesterfield have the most difficult run in and Hartlepool is not that easy either. Sutton are still favorites but we are now top of both the last 5 and last 6 form table.

Thanks RJD - it's reassuring that Hartlepool have a tougher run in than we do !
Sutton - 4th from the end they play Woking (H) - they are sure to do us a favour (?), then Maidenhead away, where Sutton will surely lose 4-1, then Hartlepool (H) which will be difficult to say the least.
We just gotta win ALL our games to be sure - the pressure is ON !
There Gary - it's that easy. Good Luck !

Updated "run in" stats. Looking at the form table Sutton have got just 10 points from the last 8 games showing how they have slipped from a seemingly impregnable position. Worse form in top 7, in the last 6 league games, are 17th! Notts are 15th but played better than that today! Stockport are second and Hartlepool third behind us in this form table. For Sutton, lack of injuries has meant high mileage in the legs of their starting XI in this intense campaign. Difficult games against Nott County and Hartlepool and Barnet may also take points off them. Hartlepool may have the most difficult run in followed by us and we need players back and to play like champions to win the league. Stockport have a couple of difficult games but otherwise a good run in but points to make up. Have disregarded Chesterfield who are out of the title race now.

A quick stat of interest. As we hit the 70 point mark, that is the same that Barrow got last year, having played 37 games, one more than us when they went up as champions on PPG. No such luck for us and with a number of teams in the lower part of the table more or less given up, more points on offer for the upper teams.

Sort of as you were with the top 4 teams all winning today. Probably worse for Stockport in that they have to make up 5 points in five games although they now have four of their next five games at home including us which is a big game and effects all the top 4 clubs, something that the Hartlepool manager was pointing out after the match today. The Sutton v Hartlepool is the other match played in the top 4 and these 2 results will be crucial in which team comes out on top. We are actually now half way through our last 10 games and have 4 wins and a draw from these five, something replicated by Stockport, Hartlepool only played 2 games in this period and won them both, Sutton have won 3 and lost 2 meaning we have gained 4 points in the race against them but due to their game in hand potentially can other take us by 2 points so the Championship remains in their hands.

I appreciate the points estimate and final standings at the end is based on the results of the last 5 or 6 games for each club (depending how many games they have left), but I think this over estimates by some margin what Sutton United will achieve.
They are wobbly! I cannot see them achieving 80 points and as low as 77 would not surprise me! ⚽️
