Sutton win again and with an almost certain 3 points waiting for them at home against Dover on Tuesday night, the table is not looking so comfortable tonight.

Looks likes a small majority of clubs in step 2 will vote to stop the season so technically no threat of relegation.

Technically, no, but would imagine one or two suits may be thinking his side should be relegated out of Steps 1 and 2 given his actions prior to the start of the season and now, ahead of the vote. Fining him personally would be my preferred outcome if such a power exists. He has already had loads of government furlough and received the first set of payments, the latter of which will have more than compensated for their lost revenue at the gate, at least. I have yet to see an understanding for supporters in any of his public utterances. Maybe the fruit business is struggling with Brexit?

If Dover's results are expunged, as seems likely, we are among the losers. Both ourselves and Stockport will lose 3 points. Notts County get to forget their embarrassing opening day defeat and Sutton and Hartlepool never even got the pleasure of meeting Dover. That will no doubt have a big say on who gets promotion this season.

Not sure how Dover are going to complete all their matches even if they were willing. Apparently their next available mid week date was mid May and of course we are looking to finish at the end of that month. They are either going to have to end up playing a few Thursdays or more likely not finish the season meaning only 20 games left for us.

It’s as much in our hands as it was, in that respect. But yes, Notts County get an added bonus. We also don’t have to rearrange for our Trophy fixture loss. Jumping the gun a bit as Parmenter is showboating to force the League’s hand yet again, but it does seem likely expunging their record will happen. If that £27 charging tit at King’s Lynn gets a whiff that there will be no separate penalty such as expulsion from Steps 1 and 2 next season, he’ll follow suit. And we drew that one.

And for that very reason Dover need to face expulsion or the integrity of the NL is under threat. Not sure what would happen if Resolution 1 fails and Resolution 4 also fails and both Steps have to carry on with a likely majority of step 2 wanting to abandon season. May possibly need massive realignment of National League System.

All this messing around by Dover and lack of leadership from the National League board juat reiterates still further that we have to try and get back into the football league as soon as is possible. Will we have a better chance than this year, assuming the season continues?

That King’s Lynn Chairman will be waiting to trouser Notts Cointy streaming money Tuesday safe in the knowledge no game next Saturday (Dover) while he decides which ‘principled stand’ he now takes having already said he wishes the Linnets to withdraw from the League.
He’ll be watching and waiting to see if Dover are expelled and I hope NL announce they will be considering their decision at a later date and certainly after all votes are in from member clubs, while publically noting that Parmenter has decided to put his Club in breach of Competion Rules in the interim at a time when others are deliberating whether to continue the Competition’s season.
He was on the League’s Board when they discussed matters with the DCMS, of course, was Parmenter. I note he doesn’t mention his club’s fans within the statement. A brief look at their fans forum has those posting not particularly bothered if they are relegated two divisions, albeit that might not represent a reasonable cross section.

A brief look at their fans forum has those posting not particularly bothered if they are relegated two divisions, albeit that might not represent a reasonable cross section. I've had a quick look at their forum and I can see those fans point of view. They are being realistic, as one fan said they are never going to be an EFL club, they just don't have the supporter base. Dover are a traditional non league club with a more parochial outlook and I noticed one poster who relished the prospect of renewed local rivalries with Folkestone and Margate should they be expelled. We are different, we see ourselves as a Football League club trying to regain its 'rightful place'. And that is the problem with the National League; the natural division between full time and part time football has been blurred. What's the point of being a well run and successful part time outfit if it means you have to accept promotion to what is essentially a full time division (I mean the National League Premier) and beyond your means and ambition. If you are lucky you might get to hang on for two or three seasons before the inevitable relegation. Clubs should have the option to decline promotion if they want to, as was the case before the Football Association made it compulsory for all clubs in the National League System.

Yep, good side but still think for now that is the better result for us. Our next opponents, Halifax are currently losing to Barnet. Stockport and Notts are both on the road and drawing 0-0 at half time.
