County won 1-0 tonight. 4 of their next 5 games at home!Stockport held to a 0-0 draw. With Hartlepool losing 2-1 it could have been a worse set of results for us.

Agreed, with be looking at the Notts and Sutton results with more interest after tonight. Notts County play Stockport away next Tuesday. Nice to have a ‘cancelling out’ fixture for once as they have seemed sparse of recent. Could probably do with a Stockport win. Wondering how relevant Notts County winning against Kings Lynn will be soon. Might just mean we get deducted one point and one game and them three points and one game if they ‘do a Dover’. I see Dover didn’t play Sutton tonight. No surprise there, but have the League said anything about that? |

The Dover situation is absurd. The league needs to sort it out quickly.We are starting to look like a Mickey Mouse league..

Predictably a mixed bag of results from our closest contenders.
Pretty obvious we cannot rely on our early season form and hope we have enough of a points advantage to see us through. There are some good sides pushing hard now they have found some form and we have given them something to chase.
The points buffer we built up has been eroded but were still in pole position.
Good runs of form or loss of form come at different times for each club and we had our best form when everyone was fit early in the first third of the season. Lets hope there's another similar run around the corner.
Other teams will have there's now or be strong on the run in.
There's no divine right to be top dog it really has to be earned over the whole season not just one third and inevitable the challengers will be baying for blood when they look at us tripping up.
We set a standard early but have been devastated again by injuries to key personnel and have faltered as a result and reckon there's less pressure for chasers than the team that sets the standard from the off.
In any case I have no idea how this season will pan out now with the Dover situation and with Wealdstone, Kings Lynn etc predictably likely to follow suite.
To say the least the leadership of he Vanarama NL leaves an awful lot to be desired but it is a difficult situation with such a mix of professional former league clubs and semi pro part timers any decision is never going to be easy or straight forward.

The whole thing is surreal at the moment. Shall we stay or shall we go? It is impossible to see where we really stand until Dover get kicked out and the points expunged. I didn't expect us to win the league at the start and just hoped we might sneak in via the play offs, but now that we are top it is still in our hands as sure as hell the teams with games in hand will not get maximum points. Many many years of observation means that I can state that as an absolute fact! 😉⚽️

That is just the way it works! 😉⚽️ I would normally be inclined to agree with you Setefano. That would mean a Law of Averages though, and as I have been informed there is no such thing. That would also mean the Chinese belief in Yin and Yang ☯️ is wrong, the belief that the Universe is in a constant flux of order and chaos is wrong, the Mayan belief... So sadly (though not unforeseen by some 🙋♂️) Notts County will in all likelihood win their next four games. Oh, and just a heads up Setefano, (I do hope Jon has twiddled with his wheel thingy) a post on the ‘Remotely Interested’ thread will appear later...and it’s going to be a cracker! 😉 |

Chesterfield boss just hinted they will be looking to sign players from NL South and North on loan. Interesting possibility. Probably being looked at by a number of NL clubs. From a player's point of view we should be an attractive option.
