link - an experienced centre back! link - bit more about this move from Exeter as he looks to build up fitness following injury. He did play 45 minutes last Saturday against Ipswich in Exeter’s 2-1 win over them

Hope he's a fit 35 year old! Yes we need experience around the place but at 35 this is just a short term stop gap and we've watched ans seen how James has struggled to get up to speed. Vincent, Edwards and James also released and Janneh, also gone has a bad ankle injury that needed an op. Leaves the door open for a one or two additions I guess hopefully a left sided wing back and maybe a physical type forward. Namane has, as predicted, done enough for an extension. Of all of the incoming of late hes looked to be the one to have earned some time to improve and impress.
I see FC Fylde Danny Rowe is available but unfortunately way out of our reach but the type of player I would like to see us bring in unless Lewington can get up to speed at this level. I don't honestly see that happening. Better players than Jared have tried and failed to step up to the next level and hes got a couple of levels to climb.

If you put aside the euphoria of last season, which was great for everyone, now we're back in NLP are we any further forward than 2 seasons ago? Our form is relegation standard, we're only 6 points above the drop zone, and we all know how quickly that gap can be wiped out. And we are back to the month-long loan process. 2 years ago I said this was an unsustainable way to operate a club; GJ can not build any sort of cohesive team with so many player being stop gap signings, and that, coupled with Jon's recent financial post, where we appeared to be hemorrhaging money at the same rate as when CO took over, means it can only be a matter of time before it all comes crashing down around us. This may seem pessimistic of me, but I always try to be optimistic, but I also juxtapose that against reality. The reality is that we are a club in serious trouble. I think you’re correct in your assertion and the appointment of Gary Johnson and the year we had has masked that somewhat, and if GJ does leave at some point, then that bubble will have well and truly been burst. Getting relegated to NLS after 4 seasons of struggle at this god forsaken level, and then bouncing straight back is a bit like when we came down to the Conference the first time went back up and then came down and struggled. I sense if we were ever to fall into NLS again, things wouldn’t be quite so rosy the next time.

Pleased to see we have left the door open for the return of Opi Edwards and Frankie Vincent. Serious injury aside both have ability and will be football league players at some point in the future and the standard of player we need in the building if we are to progress.

Getting Jackson Longbridge on loan from Bradford City apparently. Scottish 24 year old defender.

Squad update
GK: MacDonald, Covolan
Defenders: Davis, Niate, Wynter, Lewis (L), Cameron, Slough, Cundy (L). Longridge (L)
Midfielders: Keating, Hall, Little, Andrews, Buse, Dickson(out on loan for rest of season), Lemonheigh-Evans (L), Kalala, Whitfield, Nemane.
Strikers: Reid, Koszela, Lewington.
Now down to 22, of those Lewington (concussion) Davis and Little are out with Little on the cusp of returning to full training and could be sitting on the bench in the next week or two. Buse is also close to being back and has had an injection in his ankle. Not sure where we are with Wynter?

Guessing we might be looking for an additional striker... Possibly, Keating can do a job short term but Little looked very good playing behind Reid against Barrow and could form an interesting partnership when fit.

Post on FB suggesting Kalvin Kalala is playing on trial for Fulham Under 23's this evening. Personally I would be disappointed to see him moving on. Not everyone's cup of tea I understand but watching a player with his natural skills and ability is one reason that keeps me trudging to Plainmoor.

Ruari - we know his assets and his limitations Rob and lets not forget when we were relegated out of this league who were our strikers? I hope Armani is back soon fit and over his injury. It will take time for him to get up to speed though and the thought of his hamstring going again will play apart in his return I'm sure. Love to see a Reidy getting some more physical support up top but as we all know it has to be a player that can make a difference and not just make up the numbers. We have one or two of them at the moment, its easy to just bring in numbers GJ knows that all to well.
