Are we getting nearer to that dreaded day when a 'President Sleepy Joe' thread will need to come into existence ? ....not yet ...so even at Christmas, let's continue to proclaim that electoral justice must be done, and the true winner retain his position. Well, it certainly will not be me bringing such a thread into existence (apologies for the poor grammar). I have no idea to what extent the new president’s policies or philosophies will prove to be to the benefit of the country, AND NEITHER DO YOU. What I do know, as I have said more times than I can remember, is that character is the most important part of a president’s personality. Joe Biden is a decent and genuine man who clearly cares about the American people and wants to do his best for them. If someone else does decide to start such a thread, why will the day when that occurs be “dreaded”? Perhaps you have fallen in with the rumour that he is a socialist or even communist or marxist, and what would be your evidence of that? Trump has no character whatsoever. He is a divisive, disruptive and self-obsessed liar and racist who despises the concept of democracy, and many leading figures in the fields of politics, law and public life agree that he is the worst president the country has ever had. The whole concept of fraud in the election has been proved to be laughable, but unfortunately he has convinced his large and gullible base that his lies are the truth, and as a result the country is now in great peril. You seem to be a very intelligent fellow, based on your ability to construct arguments in depth and in a convincing manner. Why you continue to speak out on his behalf, and claim that he should be permitted to perpetuate his vile regime, is beyond my comprehension. Do you actually condone the rioting at the Capitol which was prompted by his rhetoric and urging and whose motivation is the ideal of white supremacy? Do you really believe in that? Good riddance to an evil autocrat, and despite your doubts to the contrary and my ongoing weakness and, as you put it, addiction in returning to reheat the argument, this is my final summation of the matter. I would concentrate solely on the football from now on, except that a long term illness (not covid) has prevented me from attending matches for several years.

I do wonder, as his supporters are being locked up, whether Trump himself, now facing a pointless impeachment with his time as president left, will face some sort of prosecution for his role in these disgraceful scenes. Think this thread still has legs......

stewart That's a worrying lack of confidence after all those hours of watching CNN, Stewart. And such a contrast with the situation of 4 years ago when so many American's could understand that candidate Trump's proposals and policies to make America great again would be a roaring success. And as we saw, it was a roaring success until a global pandemic swept across the globe, sufficient months before Election Day to wipe out so much of his good work. A fine post nonetheless Stewart, which was a most interesting read, and despite harking back to 24th December to pick up on my comment ,it does mean that I can address at leisure a few of the points and questions you raise within it, which I will get to in time (Covid19 permitting of course) The vital point I do have to make abundantly clear, is that the person I alluded as having an 'addiction in returning to reheat the argument' was most definitely not you, but an old foe of far longer standing. Sorry for the confusion caused. Who knows if there's going to be much football to keep us occupied Stewart ? Let's hope there is, particularly with things going so well, although Hartlepool's good form is something that concerns me as we look in the rear view mirror. After January 20th, if it's a bit quiet on the football front, I doubt you'll be able to resist the allure of the brand spanking new, ultra shiny, 'Beijing Biden' thread ..... and with our Admin's eagerly anticipating that there might still be enough ongoing Trump news to keep this old favourite going as well, we'll be spoiled for choice. COMING SOON ... TO A FORUM NEAR YOU ......

Think this thread still has legs...... Would rather the New York law case just catches up with him. The US needs to move on from his divisive tenure without politically martyring the orange idiot.

Rob I think you mean 'instigate Leftist approved divisiveness' instead. There's one hell of a lot of divisiveness planned and ready to be on the table for implementation soon after January 20th. It's blatant, it's spelled out, there's no attempt to hide it. It's the racial divisiveness of the Left's beloved Identity Politics. But as you're convinced that's the way to bring everyone together, the 4 year success story that's about to commence in the US should be pleasant and instructive viewing. What is all this with you and "the Left"? It's a constant theme in your posts, but I ask that question with courtesy and no intention of being offensive. I can only assume that either you have undergone some dreadful experience earlier in your life, or that you are simply playing devil's advocate to have a bit of fun.

I was taken to Bramall Lane once as a child which was pretty psychologically scarring, but no I was never kidnapped by the Sandinistas, it was all pretty normal, sitting up in my pram with a beginners guide to Mein Kampf and a Mussolini doll to keep me amused. It’s been a tussle with the Far Left Militants for so many years that it’s ingrained to keep fighting. And as I’m pretty much the last man standing in opposing them, and my own demise could come soon, it almost feels like my duty to die with my boots on. If I were to stop posting on TFF (stop cheering at the back !!) there would still be an overwhelming number of Left wing posts, Left Wing opinions, and Left Wing solutions being advocated .... the theme would be as strong as ever .... all that you'd have lost would be any counter argument to them, and of course they never come with an actual 'This Is Left Wing' label attached to them. And quite understandably, particularly those who’ve never followed politics particularly closely, don’t always appreciate that they’re being fed Far Left propaganda, or a path way to Socialism that cleverly tries to obscure, or disguise the underlying political motivations. And it’s been a tough and lonely job, I can tell you, Stewart. Take one particular issue that I’ve worked hard to bring out into the open. The casual reader of TFF would see numerous posters pouring cold water on my claims, and maybe therefore be inclined to treat them with scepticism. And then one day, maybe they’re deciding how to vote …. and suddenly they realise it was actually true after all. Corbyn's Labour Election Manifesto 2019
‘Hang on a moment, why is the most extreme Left Wing, dyed in the wool Socialist leader the Labour Party has had in our living memory, so desperate to get Trust members into the boardrooms of Britain’s football clubs ? Why would that appeal to an extremist like Corbyn so much ? Alpine Joe had been warning about that Trojan Horse for years, but we allowed the Militants to put us off the scent …… but now Corbyn and the Radical Left have brought it out into the open ….. no point the Militants even trying to deny it anymore … that cat is well and truly out of the bag’Think of my posts as giving insight to those who were too blind, or determined not to see President elect Biden’s unashamed declaration that identity politics is already at the heart of how his Administration intends to conduct itself is straightforward modern Leftist policy … same as we’d have got by the bucketful had we put Corbyn into No.10. I can’t see that I’m doing anything more than calling a spade a spade. If you want a free unimpeded and unquestioned road for the Socialist clarion call to be heard, then lobby a friendly Administrator to take the necessary action to bring that about. Or at least convince me why you would benefit from being closed off to alternative viewpoints ?

WOW!! Now I know.
I shall certainly be keeping a careful lookout for the "overwhelming number of Left wing posts, Left Wing opinions, and Left Wing solutions being advocated".

‘McCarthyism is the practice of making accusations of subversion or treason, especially when related to communism, without any proper regard for evidence’.
Senator Alpine Joe McCarthy can root out this evil on your behalf, Stewart. No need to look too hard for it. He’s on the case.
Apparently lefty Admin should hang their heads in shame again. Where’s that Monty Python video? Am hearing Trump isn’t going to the inauguration as part of his special hissy fit.
I’ve not kept up to speed with the impeachment debate that I understand started earlier today. Am thinking there is little point to it now. It’ll only make alt-right zealots that pervade our mainstream and social media more militant. Probably. 😉

He’s just become the first President to be impeached twice. Makes sense. He’s been their worst in most people’s lifetimes.
One of his own current advisors has just come out and said unfortunately Trump consistently lies and as a cautionary tale, parents will tell their naughty children in years to come not to end up like Trump and to tell the truth.
Seems like a waste of time still. Senate two thirds is required to convict him.

When I see any footage of old sleepyhead, I always expect Jeremy Beadle to walk round the corner at any moment! This surely has to be some sort of joke, that man is going to be the most powerful man on the planet? He moves about like a blowup sex doll...well, that’s what I’ve heard anyway. 😚
He looks/walks/talks like the living dead...although, not realising your dead is actually part of the dying process so he might be dead already.
At least I know that when The Shit Hits The Fan, Stewart is safe...he does have a hat to hold on to! 🙂
