Love Trump’s opening few words, ‘I’m not fighting for me’. How refreshingly sincere of him. 😉😂

Rob Yep, more than a shade of 'It's not about us, we're just fighting for the best interests of the club'Those hoping to come to power via the political route, whether dealing with The Senate and Congressmen, or local councillors and regional MP's, spend time crafting slogans that they think will play well with the public. But be it Texas or Torbay, it's always best to probe a little deeper. There's always a need for a places such as Trumpwatch and Trustwatch to help see beyond the official propaganda.

As I have mentioned previously, my grasp of politics is non-existent, but surely others can see that this is a complete stitch-up!
Here we have Creepy Joe who is closer to his grave than his inauguration early next year! In the wings though, we have some woman who is woke, man hating and more left wing than Tony Scott! Which is akin to Albert Einstein running for President, and his running mate is Mr. Blobby! Everyone is going to vote for Einstein, but no one for Blobby, and then off Einstein goes to pop his clogs leaving Blobby in charge! Which is exactly what has just happened with Biden and that woman, who's name I have already forgotten. If the woman (who shall remain nameless) had any chance of being President, surely she would have run herself...or aren't women allowed to be President? Then at least it could have been looked upon as a slightly fairer vote...apart from all the skullduggery that took place of course!
Politics...I feel sick!

This time around, the President-elect’s Vice President will be Kamala Harris. Hope that clears that one up. Ah, so that’s how American politics work, now I understand. 🤥 Had a little look at Kamala, and not only is she woke, and a total leftie, she’s also green! Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for saving the planet, but when you have the world’s biggest producer of pollution not giving a shit, what’s the point. As I have mentioned, I have been to China and if you can see the other side of the road it’s a good day! Kamala is a Ugandan word/name seemingly, and the Ugandans follow what the Red Indians do, and name their babies after what is happening at their birth...Sitting Bull etc. Her mother is called Shyamala (what a fabulous name) and that means beautiful baby. Kamala in Ugandan means chubby, or blobby! As we are discussing the American Indian, it is time for a bit of trivia! A pinch and a punch first of the month. Back in the day, Washington would make a monthly visit to some of the tribes out there, and he would give them a bowl of punch with a pinch of salt in it...peace! 🤘

He’s still doing it for others. I wish you hadn't said that, because there are others on this thread (two of them) who will think that you mean it. The truth is that there has never been such a divisive, subversive, corrupt and selfish person acting as commander-in-chief of the United States. Out of spite, he is trying to bring the country down with him. He cares less about the American people than you or I would care about a wasp which we had squashed after it had bitten us on the ass. He is now attempting to issue pardons to members of his own family who may have committed financial crimes before those crimes have even been revealed. He is also sacking people whom he praised to the heavens when he appointed them, only to turn against them when they tried to explain to him the reality of the situation. He is taking no part in any of the meetings about solutions to the coronavirus, instead he goes out playing golf. It doesn't matter whether your inclination is to side with either the Republicans or the Democrats. Trump is, and has been throughout the past four years, interested in nothing more than his own ego. He is not a Republican. How can he be when he is now slating, via his beloved twitter, Republican governors, lawyers and respected officials responsible for the election, in states of which he asserts he has been robbed. From Day One he has only ever thought about what's in it for him. The most astonishing thing to emerge from the past month is the extent to which his supporters still "adore" him. Already there have been death threats issued to people who are going out of their way to prove that there has been no voter fraud, inspired by Trump's continued lies. This will probably erupt into wide scale violence on the part of Trump's sycophants. The Republican party has degenerated into a cult which believes everything that this compulsive and self-centered liar says. I am willing to concede that Joe Biden also has his faults, if such they can be called. Yes, he is old, yes he sometimes stutters over his words and yes, he may fall over when playing with his dog. But he is a sincere man of great character who says that his main goal is the welfare of all the American people, and I believe him. In the current climate it doesn't matter how he intends to achieve that. Two people on this thread have constantly insulted and belittled him, most unfairly, perhaps because they cannot entertain anything other than their right wing obsessions, or there may be other reasons which they are welcome to share. Just remember that the greatest US presidents, particularly Roosevelt, Kennedy, Reagan and Obama, have had character, which the outgoing one certainly does not. Even Nixon, despite his shocking weakness in the Watergate scandal, appears like a saint compared with Trump. I don't want to hear any more about the voter fraud nonsense, just tell me what is so appealing about this apology of an ex-president.

I would care about a wasp should I inadvertently swat it after it bit my arse! I would then chant the Namgyalma mantra 21 times and then blow on the broken cadaver of said wasp, and I would then pray that the wasp took rebirth in a Pure Land. Oh, and you then chuntered on about something else which isn’t/wasn’t important!

stewart A confident assertion for anyone to make, let alone the TFF's American Presidential Election Correspondent. When most of us went to bed it was only the State of Texas that had filed a lawsuit against Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Georgia ... i.e the battleground States where there was most evidence that they'd rigged their elections in order to favour Beijing Biden. But we've all woken up this morning to the news that Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, South Carolina, and South Dakota have all joined Texas in helping file this lawsuit. Of course there is no certainty that the Supreme Court will take it up. But if they do, it will surely signal that there is still all to play for, and that things are far from over. Should this materialise then the resignation of TFF's US Election correspondent would surely be a formality .... he couldn't hope to cling on to his position in such circumstances STOP THE STEAL.

Strewth, if Biden is a fraud and a disgrace, what the hell does that make Trump?
I repeat from an earlier post: just tell me what is so appealing about this apology of an ex-president. Go on, at least find one redeeming feature in his character. Or is it just blind or blinkered devotion to right wing and autocratic values, in which self-interest is the prime requisite?

I’m sure Stewart wouldn’t have minded if a few had already tackled any of the 4 questions he managed to squeeze into his short post. Maybe Rob’s reference to Ukraine was an attempt at one of them, but I’ll leave that calculation to Stewart.
1. if Biden is a fraud and a disgrace, what the hell does that make Trump?
That would make him the legitimate winner of the election. If there is Court involvement resulting in only legal votes being tallied, that would surely bring about such an outcome.
2. tell me what is so appealing about this apology of an ex-president.
Leaving aside the obvious point that Trump is a current rather than ex President, I think the initial appeal was that he was a straight talking non politician, saying he’d do the things that ordinary Americans were much more in favour of, rather than what the identikit politicians of both parties who inhabited the Washington swamp had on offer …. things and subjects the conventional politicians wouldn’t even discuss let alone do anything about. Bringing back jobs that had for decades been allowed to be reassigned overseas to cheap labour areas, putting a brake on, and starting to reverse the Military Industrial Complex and it’s appetite for new and bigger conflicts. Hence Trump is the first President since Carter in the 1970’s not to have started a new war or escalated an existing conflict during his term in office.
And of course to stop the incessant flow of illegal immigrants streaming over the border from Mexico by building a wall. Trump’s election slogan of ‘Promises Made Promises Kept’ reminded people of what he had brought about ( record jobs and employment, a booming economy, no new wars, the Syria situation calmed right down, and genuine attempts and some progress to solve long standing ongoing antagonisms such as with the Israelis and Palestinians, and with North Korea.
Peace, jobs, and keeping the mass of freeloaders from swarming over the undefended border to the South. Good results on all three, especially before Covid, and consequently rewarded with a genuine record number of legal votes, is my guess.
3. find one redeeming feature in his character
Judging by his kids, I think you have to conclude he’s a very good Father, especially if compared with the Biden offspring who all seem to spend a considerable amount of time in a Police cell before strings are pulled at a higher level to bring about their release.
But don’t voters interest themselves primarily on what they think will be best for their family and their country ? A better chance of a well paid job, and fewer wars to kill the country’s youth ? The luxury of trying to dissect a candidate's character doesn’t put food on the table, and to what degree can you really tell anyway ? How many, when trying to weigh up Blair’s character, could identify his blood lust, his desire for war to the extent of authorising a dodgy dossier to frighten MPs and the country that WMDs could be raining down on us within 45 minutes ?
Given the death, destruction, and carnage that his desire for war based on false claims resulted in, could we see the manic need not just to cover his hands in blood but to sink his arms in up to the elbows, from analysing what we perceived to be Blair’s character ? When Britain voted John Major into No.10 could we foresee in his character that he’d soon have Edwina over his desk, and administering a good rogering ( just for you, Reg) and not giving a thought to dear loyal Norma at home ?
If you were deciding such things based on character, wouldn’t Britain have elected Corbyn rather than Boris ? Wouldn’t most Brits rather have Jezza as a next door neighbour than BoJo ? Lend Corbyn your lawnmower and he’d bring it back after he’s finished with it. Whenever you go out, he wouldn’t necessarily be straight round molesting your Missus …….. yet when you ask the same questions regarding Boris ?
But running the country is a different matter. The fact that voting for Jezza would enable policies to turn Britain into a hellhole, however well meaning he is, made voters say ‘Sod character …. let’s just avoid a Marxist nightmare’ and so they elected that bounder Boris instead.
4. Is it just blind or blinkered devotion to right wing and autocratic values, in which self-interest is the prime requisite?
While we can have the luxury of a more detached view from Britain, and can make our selection based on a preference of one person's character over another, it probably is a case that self interest is more of a concern if you’d have to live under that President. If you would suffer the consequence of living in a Democrat run city where even if your business hasn’t already been burnt down by Antifa, then the ongoing drive to defund the police means there may soon be little to stop people walking off with your stock without paying for it.
America’s continuing drift to the Left over decades indicates to me there’s no desire for any great lurch to the Right. I think there probably was and is a concern at which autocratic Left Wing values were being imposed by those who wield massive power …. just witness the behaviour of Facebook, Twitter, and various Google subsidiaries this year. Trump was the only hope of at least being able to apply the brakes to some extent ….. although even with a further 4 years I doubt an actual reversal could be started in motion.
The election process has been a mess. To the extent I don’t foresee any satisfactory outcome can be rescued from it. What I think it has confirmed, is that America has far deeper problems, ones that are beyond solving simply by choosing one over the other out of Trump and Biden.

First of all, thanks for setting out those lengthy responses to my questions about Trump's character. Unfortunately, you seem to have described only his actions instead. Moreover, all of the things and situations which you say he has 'brought about' pale into insignificance when compared with his frivolous and senseless attitude towards the pandemic (mocking the wearing of masks, calling the medical experts disasters and idiots, etc.).
With every one of your sentences while reading them, I wondered when you going to deny my assertion that he is an arrogant and obnoxious bully who is also a compulsive liar and a racist. Perhaps in your own mind you actually believe that as well, but that the type of person he is doesn't matter.
I'm sure you will agree that there are two distinct ways of looking at this debacle:
(a) Trump genuinely believed that he was going win the election, is devastated that he lost, and will now stop at nothing to have the result overturned by any devious method possible, including instilling some kind of fear in many of his fellow Republicans, who are terrified by the prospect of upsetting him; and (b) Trump did actually lose the election by a considerable margin, and knows that he did, and is now attempting to convince the world at large that either millions of his own votes were discounted, or the same number of Biden's were somehow invented. You couldn't even make that up in a work of fiction!
You are absolutely right about the deep problems now facing the American people, as tens of millions of them worship the ground he walks on and believe every word he says. Some of the interviews with his supporters are laughable beyond belief, and there is now a real and imminent danger that the country will become even more divided and violence in the streets will ensue, probably sooner rather than later. Sadly, that will be entirely the work of one person with an insanely bloated ego.
Still, thanks again for your comments, many of which I found very absorbing and revealing.
Edit at 11.50 pm: the Supreme Court, including Amy Coney Barrett (what a disappointment for Trump) have rejected the Texas lawsuit, in fact they will not even listen to it.
They think it's all over....it is now!

I would imagine, that we have all been to matches where we have thrown everything (including the kitchen sink) at the opposition’s goal with no reward, only to then concede a soft late goal, and end up walking away shaking our heads in disbelief.
A similar thing has happened in the States. As Stewart rightly mentioned, there are tens of millions of Trump supporters scratching their heads saying...’How the hell did we lose that?’ Also, we have a small number of Creepy Joe’s supporters saying...’How the hell did we win that?’
Sadly, everyone knows what’s coming up, a saddier, wokier, leftier, luvier and shittier New World Order!
