loyaltygull I'm sure January will bring some new faces. But G.I are in a comfortable position, safe in the knowledge that they're free from any criticism from TUST militants. The TUST pre share issue, promoted the greatest mass misplacing of cheque books the South Devon area has ever witnessed. Only a pitiful 19 chequebooks could be located. That might account for current rumours suggesting the Heroic 19 will each be presented with medals, very similar to the Order Of Lenin in design, in recognition of their revolutionary ferver. With disappointing returns from their lottery, given the time and expense put into it, I'm sure I'm not the first of the TUST's critical friends to suggest they should consider possible wealthy sypathisers overseas, who might be willing to contribute financially ? Meanwhile, our own Kev Jong-un at Plainmoor, will have a number of irons in the fire, but as always, will have to think carefully before making his move. Also, perhaps the transfer targets themselves take longer to weigh up,and commit to a move to Torquay as it may mean moving house, a different school for the kids etc ( particularly if we're after a couple of extra experienced heads for the team) whereas if you're moving from one London club to another, you're weighing up if you'll remember to jump on a different bus to take you to training. We can afford a little patience. G.I haven't been sanctioned as official owners by The League yet. And remember, if things had taken a different turn we would still be in TUST's period of exclusivity up until 31st January, with £25, two buttons and a dog biscuit in the collection tin.......just think how many players we'd have been bringing in during January if the spectre of TUST ownership was looming on the horizon!

Probably you're increased contributions to the player fund since GI took over that have enabled it, alpine. Careful not to shoot your bolt before we get Moore news, though.

Believe it when I see it Rob. Good fortune doesn't usually come this clubs way. Must congratulate Angus on his swift rise to stardom though. Always had it physically but tended to lose his head on occasion so maybe he has sorted that out as well.

IF he did go for £2.5m and IF we had and still have a 15% sell-on, that would be a nice £360k windfall. That would cover 2 years of £180k pa losses, 3 years of £120k pa losses, 4 years of £90k pa losses...... Mr Micawber always said that "something will turn up", but you have to have enough financial backing to be able to live from windfall to windfall. Otherwise, you end up giving the club away to property developers who will probably blow the lot on "professional fees". £360k is a lot to a small football club, but not a lot when it comes to property speculation fees. Mr Brent spent the lion's share of the £2m Oldway "windfall" on plans and drawings before b*ggaring off.

It was a good night for two ex-players who have so recently been propelled up the footballing tracks, having so recently benefited from King Kev's expert coaching. Cap'n Angus and Kieffer Moore have both gone on to reach a higher station in the world of football, and last night saw them each performing in front of 26,000 crowds. Cap'n Angus was helping contain the mega bucks Aston Villa strikers at Villa Park. Barnsley's impressive 3-1 win had home manager Steve Bruce ranting: "The reason why we've got one of the biggest wage bills in the Championship is we've got to deal with that mentality and expectation. That's why they get paid more than anyone else in this division. I'm convinced they are made of the right stuff and can get better, and it's my responsibility to make them better".Villa might be heaping untold riches on their stars, but they were no match for a player tutored in the art of defending by King Kev, and who naturally, breezed through the 90 minutes without picking up as much as a yellow card. Down on the South Coast, another 26,000 crowd witnessed Brighton hitting the buffers at home, with their quest for automatic promotion ideally requiring a better result than being held to a 1-1 draw at home to Ipswich. Kieffer Moore, so recently unable to get a regular start at National League level, before King Kev transformed his prospects and put him in a first class compartment to the Championship, got on the field for the final 5 minutes for Mick McCarthy's men. A train pulls out of Falmer Station as fans arrive at the stadium for the Sky Bet Championship match between Brighton & Hove Albion and Ipswich Town at the Amex Stadium on February 14, 2017 in Brighton. But who's suffering from leaves on the line ?. Has he been gone too long and the 'Nico Effect' starting to wear off for Nathan Smith ? After a very promising start to the season, Port Vale have really struggled, to the extent that they're now only one position above the relegation spots in League 1. Young Nathan played the full 90 minutes as Vale lost 2-0 at Millwall last night. Results need to pick up soon, otherwise Nathan and others could find themselves shunted out of the first team, and replacements brought in. A general view of the stadium from South Bermondsey Station prior to the Sky Bet League One match between Milllwall and Port Vale at The Den on February 14, 2017 in London.

Thought Allen was pretty effective here during seasons revival and surprised KN didn't fancy him. Trickier than anything we have at the moment and complemented Blissett etc pretty well. Our squad now looks completely bereft of flair and creativity, Allen or an Allen type gives defenders something to think about especially in wide areas. Toby Ajala promised so much but delivered rarely but when he did turn it on he was able cause problems - we just haven't been doing that this season typically Read runs at defenders and then falls over!! I really don't know what his position is do any of us?

Tonight I started thinking about how many players from the glory days of the 50s and 60s might still be alive, and eventually ended up with Trevor Wolstenholme, who is one of the only survivors, along with Colin Bettany and Robin Stubbs, of the team which held the mighty Tottenham Hotspur to a thrilling 3-3 draw in January 1965.
After leaving Torquay in 1966 at the age of 23, he appears to have played only a few games for York City before his professional career came to an end. Trevor was a really cultured and inspirational player for Torquay during his two seasons with the club. The career of such a talented player must surely have been brought to an end by a serious injury, otherwise why would he call it a day at the age of 24 ?

Can't believe the font of all knowledge has started on you for no reason at all! Won't be long before he's banished back to his little dark room! What a horrible chap! Poisonous character!!!
