Anthony O'Connor joins Burton Albion on two year deal.
Duane Ofori-Acheampong (he was one our ours?) scores a hat-trick for Bowers & Pitsea in their 2 - 1 win

Rated him, think he was loan with them prior to coming our way. Actually there are probably quite a few that have been released in recent years that we would love to have back now.

Having infiltrated the Green Army yesterday, among the 1000 plus crowd at Bideford, I can state that Argyle fans are disappointed that Anthony O'Connor is now no longer with them. The decision to release Luke Young also still rankles, and featured in the 30 minute question and answer session that the impressive Derek Adams held in the Social Club pre match.
I was on a scouting mission checking out our green opponents who we face on Tuesday week at Plainmoor. It also handily allowed me to boycott Plainmoor for the day in protest at the sale of Ryan Bowman 
If we change 'where are they now' to 'where were they yesterday?' then Billy Bodin, Daniel Leadbitter, and Lee Mansell were all playing against Arsenal ! OK, more of an Arsenal X1 to be strictly accurate.
Matt Hockley, meanwhile, put in a decent performance in the Bideford team I thought, even though they eventually went down 3-1 to Argyle.
Green Army !

Notice a couple of old boys in the transfer/loan news.
Micheal Poke to Eastleigh.
Alan Connell to Poole.
Would either of them been a boon to our squad?
Connell may be not with injuries - but cheap?
Poke to help bring on Dan - maybe wages too high?

I think Pokey after his start at Southampton has always been on good wages and was the reason we let him go as I recall. Pity, as we did well when he was here!
Would have Connell back but our need presently is a targetman and cannot really gamble on anyone's fitness on what will turn out to be a smallish squad.

I hope Aaron Downes gets the welcome he deserves back at plainmoor this saturday. Always gave his all for us and scored some goals too.
