So, Blackpool at home. I'm disappointed to be honest because it's not a massive team and it's also a match I can't see us winning (a la Brighton last year). Argyle got Arsenal away, fair play to them. I think I may look into going to that one. Really pleased for Barrow, they deserved a Premiership away draw. Edit: My name appears to have changed colour! How on Earth did I win that?! ;D

Not the real money spinner we would have hoped for and a game we will find hard to win. We have beaten clubs in higher leagues before in the FA Cup, so we are always in with a chance.
Blackpool will be more worried than we will be as they are the ones expected to win, while we really have nothing to lose, so we should be able to just have a really good go at winning this match.
I believe we can be in the hat for the 4th round, we should at least see a much better crowd at Plainmoor and who knows, get a result and gates may well be better thereafter.

Disappointing, though. The real money could have come from TV coverage and we are not likely to be on that.
All things considered, the remaining non-league teams, possibly Blyth Spartans excepted, have every right to be a bit fed up. The reaction from the Histon players on hearing their draw against Swansea spoke volumes.
During their performance against Leeds, I started wondering how we will finish above them in the BSP table. They already look like a team well capable of holding their own in League 2.

Well it's a League club at home, and that's got to be good - oh, I forgot; having dropped two points at "pub league" Histon on the first day of the season our "half brained" manager personally lost us a third of last season's average crowd. I guess we'll struggle to attract more than three thousand from the sleepy streets of "Snorebay"!

Gutted to be honest! Certainly won't be on the telly which is the only chance we have of making any more money from this cup run. Crowd at plainmorgue on the third of January.........a whisker over 3000! I am not amused

Oh yee of little faith - with wins against both Cambridge teams, in Sussex and in the festive 'local' derbies, then we should be rampant and a good team to spend some of your Christmas money on to watch.
I still think we'll get a 5k crowd that day ...

I'm a little bit "dissapointed". We could have drawn someone better but we could have got it worse.
We saw it do Histon today and we've done it before ourselfs. This is the FA Cup, anything can happen!

Don't get so down people. Blackpool are not having a great season and if they happen to have a dodgy December may well not fancy coming to Plainmoor come January. They have everything to lose.

This is not an attractive tie. From 20 Dec, we have attractive matches against Histon, Kidderminster and two Bank Holidays games against Weymouth. I suspect that, in the current climate, Blackpool may be a match too far for some, being the 5th game in 15 days.
Who is going to volunteer as streaker if we find ourselves a couple down in the dying minutes!?

Not the best and certainly not the worst possible draw, we just never seem to get the big one tough do we? Could have been Kidderminster or Macclesfield away so lets be grateful for yet another home tie that is certainly very winable with all of the pressure on them to get a result. We certainly have enough experience and talent to progress even further in this competition, you only have to look at the weekend success of the non league rs to realise that the gap is nowhere near as big as it used to be. Believe me they will be worried and will have all of the pressure om them. How about Blackpool supporter and former Chairman Mike Bateson as special guest? Er...maybe not.

Pikey I have not read what D.T has said, but would a bank holiday game be moved? would the club want it moved? I would think if any game needs to be moved surly It should be the cup game, but I would expect it has to be played on or before the day its due,but I just can't see a new years day game being moved.

We might be able to have it moved to the Sunday for the reasons stated above. I can't imagine anyone would have a problem with it. Cue hundreds of reasons why it wouldn't work being thrown my way. EDIT: I didn't realise we had Kidderminster between the two Weymouth games. In which case, I think we'll have to push for a New Years Day postponement. Four games in a week and a half is far too much. Imagine if one of the so-called "Big Four" were handed that fixture pile-up; Messrs Ferguson, Wenger, Scolari and Benitez would be spitting feathers. I was really just thinking along the lines that it could potentially be a great game and a massive upset. Coupled with the fact that it's a relatively short journey for me and I can't imagine I'll have a lot of plans that day, other than recovering!

The draw will do for me - although, of course, never one that remotely entered our thoughts.
As Petef says, there were plenty of awful draws we could have had. It was ever thus in the 3rd Round - 63 possible opponents, home or away, split between the ones you want, the ones you don't want and those to which you're indifferent.
The home games are piling up - three more Saturdays on the trot, Christmas Sunday, Blackpool, a possible Trophy tie and then Wrexham on a Thursday.
I'm not counting the Weymouth game at this point. Dave Thomas may have a point about it being postponed. The Football League and the Premier League are not playing this New Year's Day because of the FA Cup. I think we'll push for the postponement.
