Tsk Tsk children. I thought this was supposed to be a matchday thread?? ;D Stu, yon progeny does rather set himself up as a target with his somewhat opinionated views on how the game is/should be played (regardless if it clashes with the reality of lower league life compared to FIFA/Championship Manager games). I suspect however, that he is also bright/sharp enough to stand up for himself and used to getting a verbal battering occasionally (and giving equal in return). Oh, and once you’ve taken him to the NMA, take him to Normandy for a couple of days as well. It puts cr@p like this (including football itself) into perspective. Oh and just as a matter of interest James, what criteria do you base on? It looks about the same standard as last season to me so far?

Off to pay my respects to those who deserve it. James has a pessimistic view on things and I do not have a problem with constructive criticism or well thought out arguments against his view but to target one person with negative, name calling bordering on bullying, i will not stand for. If the moderators won't step in, then I will i have no problem with Jon, Barton, Wildebeest etc who debate properly and if the odd dig comes his way it is not a problem as they are friends and is understood what is meant

. If the moderators won't step in, then I will We do our best to run this forum with little or no moderation, after all we promote self moderation as we feel its the best way and can work if everyone sticks to just debating. We do have on every single post ( not by choice as its a forum feature) a report to mod link, if it is used Rob will look into it and as he is a very fair minded chap, will hopefully sort things out so everyone can all move on and get back to posting. Not an opinion I share Lambie. The TFF provides a platform for those who want intelligent debate. We try and promote a friendly environment and also friendships between our members etc. We do not provide a platform for people to make arrangements to have a punch up after the match. I have nothing further to add on this thread and will soon be going out to take some pictures of the older parts of Paignton.

Oh and just as a matter of interest James, what criteria do you base on? It looks about the same standard as last season to me so far? The complete lack of form and consistency of pretty much every team in the division. Everyone is beating everyone. No one is stringing a run of results together. The table is incredibly tight from top to bottom. That can only suggest one of two things - either all the teams are equally excellent or equally dreadful. And judging by what I've seen and read of late, it's not because they're equally excellent There has been a bit of a talent drain in League Two of late. Any star players have been bought up and hoarded by bigger/richer clubs. There are very few outstanding players in this division this season - 8 out of the 11 players in the Team of the Year from last year are no longer playing in this league and/or have moved clubs; of the 3 remaining, 2 of them play for us, while the other is Marlon Pack, for me the best player in the division at the moment

Is it not possible to have a dedicated photograph board? which would not clog up the main board-just a thought!!

We have one, its called the TFF Photo Gallery and its where I will put up any pictures I take today.
Pictures are welcome in any other room on the TFF, no point in having a grounds review board for example without pictures lol. All posts with pictures on, will always show up if you use the last 75 post facility, there is nothing I can do to stop that happening,

If the moderators won't step in, then I will I told him "to get a life" after another one of his digs at the club for not bringing in a striker who scores less often than the ones we've got (Jake Robinson) If you think that, that is bullying or name calling then I'm really sorry for any offence You say I've targeted your son for abuse and I've made 10 posts or whatever on the trot doing so (not true) I have taken him to task over some of his posts about TUFC that grate with me (and several others) - if you can find any abuse or bullying in them then please provide the evidence - I don't take kindly to being called a bully, I don't expect an apology from you, you strike me as the kind of bloke that doesn't have that in him. Here is a selection from all of the posts made.....apart from the references to thinking that champ manager is exactly like real football (my own 13 year old lad does to.....mind) I can not find any abuse or bullying. James......for an intelligent lad, you are naive in the extreme of the realities of trying to run a professional football club in a footballing backwater such as Devon. You're not quite correct here James......not picking on you but just to clarify the Watford situation...Ok James....you win! We should spend like serial basket cases Swindon, we shouldn't use transfer income to build grandstands or training grounds - youth system........nah balls to it, Bateson had it right, who needs to try and build a club with a decent infrastructure, much better to spend it on journeymen pros that may or may not play in a bloated 1st team. Lets ignore the fact that 2500 attendances = 17 or so decent players for this level.... James........I fear for your sanity I really do, we weren't lucky to get 12 points from the last 6 matches, we're not lucky to be 7th in the league - you get what you deserve in football.Ok James, you're probably on a wind up but as you are so hilarious....I'll play.James.........with apologies and you do seem a very nice lad but I really can't be arsed to carry this on..... One day though, you'll make a fine politician, in that you have mastered the art of relentlessly blabbing and bullshitting about a subject that you appear to know very little about - that's not easy to do and I take my hat off to you

I would look more objectively at the table. One team manages over 2 points per game (same as Swindon last season), then theres a handful on between 1 1/2 and 2 points per game as per last season. At the bottom there are 4 teams that cant manage more than 1 point per games, the same as last season. 8th to 22nd are spread slightly more than last season but not that much different. Whilst we have still to reach the halfway point this season, it looks to be shaping up pretty much the same so far, so that rather negates "lack of form" and "everyone is beating everyone" and it certainly isnt the case that the "table is incredibly tight from top to bottom" any more than it was last season. As for the L2 team of the season, twas ever thus. Look back at the last few seasons and its exactly the same. A big chunk come from the teams that get promoted which is why they are not still in L2. Hardly makes it any more of a talent drain than any other season does it?

It is subjective, yes, but I think there's plenty to back it up. Agree to disagree?
As for the Team of the Year, in previous seasons the players that don't play in the league during the following season are usually ones that have been promoted. Last year that wasn't the case - Olejnik, Caddis, O'Kane, McLeod and Barnett were all transferred out of the division while Sharps went to Rotherham for big money

Barnett, Caddis and Sharps were from teams that got promoted. In fact im not sure what Barnett is doing in the team when he went on loan to Posh in Feb.
Look back at previous seasons teams and see how many are still in L2 the following season...

Well the half a dozen people on the planet who want to read about Paignton's medieval walls or Newton Abbott's almshouses will continue to be well catered for then. But there's nothing like a good scrap to get the posts and page views coming in - and it's not as if the TFF is brimful with posts and debate otherwise is it?
