After only our second home win on Tuesday, we can go into this game with a bit more confidence against a Hereford side very much on the up after another dreadful start to their campaign. Since losing 1-6 at home to Gillingham, they have only lost once, (0-1 home to a good Oxford side), drawn twice, (both away to Swindon, 3-3 and Cheltenham, 0-0) and rather more ominously won their last three! (1-3 away to Northampton, 1-0 home to Barnet and 2-0 home to Bradford - all struggling sides however.)
Jamie Pitman has put those wins down to pure energy and fitness and has looked to counter attack with his wide men playing a key role in this. Harry Pell is suspended for this one but top scorer is Harry Barkhuizen with four and his strike partner Gary Elder will also be a threat.
Robertson just missed out being fit on Tuesday and although Ling has hinted that he will keep the same side, I think Robbo should be in there and maybe the right back spot beckons if fit? Danny was ill as opposed to being injured so hopefully will be back on the wing as our options out wide are not good at present.
This fixture last season, back in February represented a low point of the campaign and hopefully we will have the confidence to be back to our best to avenge this defeat against a combative Hereford outfit that will look to quickly close us down and hit us on the break.

I feel this will be a tough test for us, Hereford are on a role and playing freely which is dangerous, but on the other hand look at these stats:
we have scored the most goals at home apart from Crawley
we are 15th in the league and have played 11 of the teams above us so far, so in theory we are now going to play most below us in the coming months. Hereford, Crewe and Plymouth are all for the taking...........COYY..
We should therefore be positive and see the winter months as vital to our season

Im all in favour uf using facts to support an opinion but when you consider we've also conceded more than anyone else at home (apart from AFCW) it doesnt exactly look so impressive. We've also played 5 of the 9 teams below us so dont bank on too many "easy" matches either. Oh, and weve played 10 above us not eleven

So this (using the stats as a guide) should be a 5 - 4 win to the Gulls!!!!! entertaining.

Difficult game this, and to be honest would much prefer a different team...haven't decided which one yet...because Hereford have really kick started their season after a pretty crap start-not that i've seen any of their games to pass comment! ;D I am though feeling quietly confident...2;0 to us!

Fair enough Ditmar, for some reason I thought we had played Swindon. So yes 10 not 11 teams we have played above us, hopefully come sat night it will still be 10!!!

We really could do with rounding this month off with a win to steady the ship. Hereford will poae a difficult problem, but one we should overcome. 2-0 to the good guys, another clean sheet to boost defensive confidence, Danny to pop one in to silence the boo boys and Manse to round of Nicho's day!!

Don’t go blaming me fellow gull’s fans if after our win on Tuesday night we go and get stuffed today, just because I will be at the match. Most games between Torquay and Hereford I have ever watched have ended in boring draws, but somehow I don’t think that will be the case today.
A win is in order as a defeat might just see us return to losing ways again and we sure need to start getting points on the board and moving up the table. If not we really could end up having to fight to maintain our league status at the end of the season.
There is still a long way to go before that might ever happen and plenty of time to get the team sorted out and getting back to regular winning ways.
I plan to be in the Gulls Nest at 2pm and hope to see a few of you in there, as always I will then be on the popside and know I will get the chance to say hello to a good number of you.
Here's hoping for a cracking game and a nice win.

I never once slagged a player and apart from McNeil never have. The treatment of Carlisle in the past and Stevens and Saah in the present are completely counter-productive and pointless. Slagging a obnoxious piece of turd like Buckle however is not. The flooding is pretty bad in Bangkok. They estimate nearly 400 crocodiles are loose in the city! I am in Koh Samui which is well away from the problems tho we are about to enter our monsoon season. The shops are having trouble getting stocks of essentials like beer, fags and bacon sarnies but apart from that I'm stocked up. So I've my last 6 bottles of Leo to sup tonight while I listen to the game and chat to gray on yahoo....hopefully they won't be wasted!!

Nice to be going into the match on the back of a good win. Tuesday was unexpected and we got the little bit of luck and good fortune that has been missing of late. Emotionally more relief that the slide has been halted than joy at the result and the fact that we kept a clean sheet is at last an encouraging sign that we may pull well away from danger. I reckon it should be an open game with a few goals in it so important to take another step forward and relieve the pressure so we can get to playing with a bit more freedom. Hereford have done just hat of late and I expect a very tough match.
