So away to Barnet, another bottom of the table club that are not having a good time of things and seem to be perpetually fighting against relegation. Looking at their home form, they have won just once in their last six although ironically they have the same points as us at home with five wins albeit having played two more games. They are not scoring many either, with no goals in the last three games although they only lost one of these suggesting the defence is not that easy to break down.
In the previous match at Plainmoor, it was a bit of a drab affair with the only real moment of quality from a Stevens, O'Kane and Benyon combination resulting in our goal and a piece of poor defending at a corner shortly after allowing them to score theirs! Barnet were and still are, up for a scrap so we will have to earn the right to play good football and then threaten their defence.
Our team will be different from the last match with no Wroe (who went missing in midfield last time) or Benyon and in fact Zebs was suspended last time out as well. Kee did start that match in a 4-4-2 formation but for whatever reason, there was very limited service from O'Kane and Stevens on the wings that day.
With a confidence boost from the Stockport match, hopefully we can go on to grab all three points to take us nearer to the play offs and/or safety depending on your outlook! ;D

The Herald has hinted that Bucks may well keep the same side as Stockport and after last week, why not? It could mean Potter retains his place in goal which is no bad thing as some competition means that both him and Bevan will have to fight for the shirt. Also Gilligan could start on the bench but to be fair, he would have had limited training opportunities with us.
Barnet have two defenders out and their manager is looking for a more attacking line up so I wouldn't be surprised to see a few goals tomorrow.

Queen's Arms for a pre-home-match pint then What are Kabba and McLeod doing at Barnet? Surely our defence will have to be on their toes tomorrow. Where is everyone on this forum anyway? It used to be teeming with comment. Perhaps everyone was feeling as hurt as I was after 'that' game. The Stockport match has definitely picked me up somewhat. On top of the new 'loanees' I'm feeling a bit better now... rather like after having a banana milkshake and a Nurofen after a night on the tiles. Over

Don’t change a winning side is the normal rule and that’s why Bucks is hinting at starting the same eleven he did against Stockport. I actually feel he was brought in Gilligan as he intends to play Mansell at right back for the next few games at least. I think Mark Ellis might have a job getting back in the side for a while as his game has been mistake ridden for a while now.
With Kabba and McLeod in the Barnet side, we might just see what Danny Potter is made of and just how good he is. As Mark has said, our defence will really need to be at its best and while I feel we will score a number of goals in this match, it won’t do any good letting more in at the other end.
We will also see what progress has been made since losing to Crawley and Hereford, yes we won with ease against Stockport, but I’m not sure just how good a test that was for us.
A good win and we can keep looking up the table, a defeat and the risk hanging over us of losing three points for playing a player we should not have and things might look a whole lot different.

It certainly is a glorious day in Torbay today, the sun is shinning brightly and there is just a slight breeze blowing. Its been a wet and miserably week weather wise and so its so good to see the sun. Its normally the other way around, nice all week when you have to work and raining at the weekend.
Not expecting to many match reports today, but if you are going to the game I hope you will find the time to write one and put it up so we can all read and enjoy your views on the match.
I'm going to Buckfastleigh today to watch Ant play and so looking forward to taking some pictures as I believe I have found the secret to getting better action shots.
After first using my SH10 in a program football mode that was OK in good light but rubbish in poor light, I started using shutter priority. The results were better but still a problem when the light was getting low.
The last game I went to ( ladies game) I used aperture priority and set it at F5 and could not believe using a film speed of only 200, I was getting shutter speeds around a 1000 of a second.
I hope all our fans who go to the game have a great and enjoyable day and leave the ground happy and glad they made the effort to go.
I have a good feeling we are going to win today and hope to catch the end of the match on the car radio on the way home.

Well on my birthday, my 48th whilst supporting Torquay United and only one more to go before the arrival of my heating allowance, I am looking forward to 3 points at Barnet today to keep me looking on the bright side throughout the day! Although that nail biting end of season game is the one that sticks in all our minds I have vivid memories of Barnet rolling up at Plainmoor as a non-league club in the First Round of the FA Cup in my very first season of supporting United. 1963/64, entering Plainmoor was an exciting and magical experience and the team were producing the goods on the pitch. The pasties and meat pies were larger and tastier and the swashbuckling brand of football produced by a team not yet known as the Gulls kept everybody coming back for more. ... and who could blame them. The Barnet FA Cup first round game in front of 6394 fans was one of a sequence of 12 successive home games where we rattled in 48 goals, an incredible average of 4 a game. Barnet were duly despatched out of the Cup with aplomb 6-2 with Dave Hancock getting 2 and the others coming from Tommy Northcott, Robin Stubbs, Jack Swindells, and our goalkeeper Terry Adlington who played outfield in the second half after being injured. The goal avalanche being experienced week in and week out, who could forget that 8-3 against Newport County with Stubbs getting 5?, helped to numb the shock and disbelief of going out of the Cup in the second round 3-2 at home to Aldershot. An exciting game where we were 3-0 down with 5 minutes to go but in the end looked likely to snatch a draw. In true Plainmoor style though the disappointment was quickly shaken off and less than 2 months later over 5000 rolled up for the league game against Aldershot seeking revenge, and were duly rewarded with another storming attacking display and a 3-0 win. We are the established Football League club, so for my birthday let's have another storming attacking display and help Barnet to return to where they rightfully belong!

As revealed by one of the players on Twitter (and as Jon put it, perhaps it should be a case that they should "Twitter ye not"!) Nico is out today and didn't make the journey up. Presumably he is injured.
Kabba and McLeod (now he is getting his fitness back) are going to be a bit of a handful today. Mid you, I think Zebs, Billy and Jake will be for them. COYY!
Is that the loudest ever PA system that Dave Thomas is trying to talk over?!!?
