Hope Buckle 'rebuilds' the dressing room and his players along.
You have to feel sorry for those who made the effort to see the match. We now have one of the worst home records in League Two, only Lincoln, Hereford and Stockport have been worse than us.
Next game on Saturday against Stockport is massive. They've been giving goals away for free but managed a 1-1 draw against Chesterfield tonight. That must give them some confidence ahead of their travel down to Devon.
Calm and steady heads needed massively, or else it could all simply fall apart!

Well the writing has been on the wall and this result was really no suprise after Saturdays crushing defeat. One look at our subs bench tonight and that told its own story. The cupboard is bare. With all due respect to the two loanees, taking Benyon,Wroe and Zebroski out of the team has torn us to pieces. Plus points - well we have Zebroski to returm and he is still a big player for us. Negatives? - far too many to mention. I am certainly not going to blame Buckle - at some stage we have to have to some backing from our board of directors. Selling our best players for sod all is one thing, but replacing them with a team full of loan players is just asking for trouble. Much like last year we are now in a position where one or two injuries to key players will probably see us relegated, such is our lack of strength in depth. Its desperation time.

But Mr Buckle did say that the team would be fully motivated by him for tonights game,so what happened? Can't wait for his views

The table doesn`t make good reading and I do wonder if the squad has enough experience and grit for a relegation battle with pressure mounting by the game now.
If we don`t pick up 4 pts in the next 2 games I can honestly see it going to the wire. The points are so close and I fancy Barnet to gather more than us. Bucks has to fashion a minimum of 12 points. Its taken us 11 games to get the last 13 pts. 3-4-4 is pretty average stuff.
There is now an awful lot resting on Robinson and midfield giving him the supply.

From recent PB comments we are having a wonderful season maybe thats part of the problem and he really does believe that. It has not been a disaster by any stretch oher than last Saturday which was an unmitigated one but we have to be very very careful that we dont get dragged into a relegation fight being only seven points adrift of danger. Supporters are stll hurting from all that went on last Saturday and its understandable that many like myself couldnt stomach more disaspointment tonight though I expect to take up my "miserable" spot on the popside on Saturday. As a small club we have enjoyed some limited success the past few seasons but now crunch time has reared its ugly head with players that were a success for us now gone and some mini rebuilding work now in progress. As the old adage suggests "You dont know what youve got till its gone" We shall see.

If we can stop giving away stupid goals we will be fine - all three goals tonigt were a result of the continuing Christmas Giveaway. We even tried our best to give them a penalty but the ref must have felt sorry for us!
Still at least we hit the post near the end!

Hit the post? Billy Boy got away from the defenders, rounded the keeper and only had to walk it over the line. An open goal if ever there was one but no, he has to hit it...Total lack of composure to be honest. Benners is going to be a big miss as it stands.
To be fair, once the new guys train a couple of times I expect things will improve. We did miss Zebs tonight though. EoK was watched carefully by their fullback and opposing winger. He needs a bit more space to strut his stuff than he got tonight or against Crawley. He's going to have to get used to that cos word will get around that he can be blanked fairly easily. Billy and new Robbo seemed to spend a lot of time running into the same channel but thats something that will change with training together. Stanley looked a bit off the plan at times. Ive no idea what is happening with the defence which looked very suspect against balls played forward to their target man. He was good at holding it up and laying it off. Saturday should be a different affair though as the new guys will be more familiar the rest of the players. We did look a better side going forward for the last 15 or 20 minutes and new Robbo looks to have plenty of pace and a good shot on him.

Not sure why I'm even bothering to write this report, the last thing I fancy doing is dwelling on that game. Apart from the opening 15 minutes we were 2nd best.......and beaten with ease by Hereford, yes Hereford, who were better than us in every department. The new guys actually look promising, Robinson is sharp, skilful and scored a fine goal, he had a good 1st half.......never really got a kick in the 2nd as the wheels came off and we created zilch. Stanley plays lots of simple accurate passes, unlike Wroe he wants the ball, gives it quickly and rather than admire the pass, he looks for space to receive it back - a midfield lynchpin type - very chunky looking but not fat, very vocal too (Gary Brabin on a good day?) unlike Mansell he doesn't continually waste posession. Our defence........oh! our defence, what has happened? Ellis was subbed to avoid any more embarrasment, you had to feel for the lad tonight - his confidence looks shot as he stumbles from one mistake to the next, Robertson and Nicholson are being exposed as the two "wingers" (if you can call them that, as all night neither of them got to the byline once) in front of them - give them no cover at all. Branston is still his consistent self.........we look like conceeding whenever the ball is near our box. We missed Zebroski big time tonight at both ends of the field. Kee was up against a huge centre half in Kovacs - I thought he did ok overall - with no crosses coming in at all, meaning very little service, it's harsh to critisize our strikers much, sadly he missed a terrible open goal after rounding the keeper late on, the game was gone by then though. With nothing much left on the bench.........two more players to come in are a minimum, we really do need 3, I caught Chris Fleet on Radio Devon saying that we need a Right back, left midfielder and another striker - who can argue? A sad night in front of a dismal, quiet crowd. Well at least I made the effort........unfortunately

Do you think the bulk of the starting 11 is suffering from not having any serious competition for places?
They seem to have developed a sloppy approach to their game. This lack of concentration and attention to their play is costing us goals at the back, far too many attempts at goal off target and too many fouls committed.

why did Ellis come off? tactical or injury? Stu it was because he had an absolute MARE. He was lucky he got as far as he did, I would have got him off at half time. When you are having as bad a game as that you are not going to be able to play yourself back into form so whether it effects his confidence or not he was a liability whilst he was on so had to be taken off. Definitely at fault for the first, possibly the second and made lots of errors.
