Evans and Raynor, loathe them or loathe them, but they are a pair of canny buggers. Don't you think they play on their reputation? Of course, they ham it up and then use it to their advantage. They really are a management duo who are not to be under-estimated... They hear it every week, no doubt and thrive on the abuse. Underestimate them and there non league status at our peril. They will also be glad to be hearing that we don't rate their non league players and will use that also as a psychological gee-up. This will be tough and the team "at it " from the off will be the ones who prosper. A totally different game to the Crewe match when Crewe stood off us for 45minutes and Evans'es Crawley will not be doing that they will be in our faces from the off and sides that have done that give us the biggest problems. I see this as a similar type of game to the Oxford one a few weeks back plenty of goals won by the odd one. A slow start, something we seem to be regularly guilty of is out of the question for this one and the team that sets the tone will be the victors on the day.

I'm getting more nervous the closer it gets. I hope PB has got the lads as focused and prepared as he did for the playoff final. His prep was perfect for that game and it paid dividends. The lads are going to have to battle and not allow Crawley (or Evans) to dominate the occasion. The ref has to be strong and grab the game from the off. I'm 100% certain that Elliott will be twatted in the nose within 30 seconds of the start. It will be deliberate and premeditated and the ref needs to be aware of it.
Gonna send the mrs to the Temple on saturday morning......it worked last time.

Except a quick check reveals 23/10 for a draw and 23/20 for a Torquay win with WH's. Best odds for Torquay - 6/5 and Crawley 11/4. Personally, I'm going on the form of my father in law who so far this season has travelled down to Plainmoor to see the Yeovil, Morecambe, Walsall and Carlisle matches. ;D

In the last three games haven`t we scored within 10 minutes of the start, twice with Eunan and the last one with Elliot? It`s not finishing sides off that we have been found guilty of, in my opinion!

A change of tactics me thinks is called for. Let them score first and we can then come from behind. What you say folks?

No thanks Phil, I would rather us take an early lead and then try and built on it. Far better to be in front and in control of the match than having to play catch up.

I meant our general play Aus even when we have gone a goal up we still seem to have to soak up loads of pressure and last week we were fortunate to go in at half time without conceding. As you say its finishing sides off and closing out games that are somwhat of an issue with plenty of points dropped late a in a game. Taking the iniative from the off will be imensly important .

Just listening to radio 5 and they have said that our game is the 3pm commentary on 5 live on Saturday. Do we get any extra money for that? I thought I read somewhere before that you do? Every little helps.
Also if you can't get to the game at least you will be able to listen to a decent commentary for once, rather than those clowns on radio Devon.

A great advert for The Bay too; " As we welcome listeners from the world service (180 million ) and forces radio (a few more) to The English Riviera, the home of Torquay United, for todays live commentary " I wonder what Alan Green will make of the Grandstand? Dire!

Just checked the R5 site and it says they have the Brum game covered. Would love it to be us as RD will lose the commo or not go there due to technical difficulties as per usual. When will those clowns ever get it sorted? I'm not having a go at the guys who do the commo just RD for being crap. Recently I listened to the Morecombe and Oxford versions cos RD had problems. Why?

15:00–17:00 5 live Sport 29/01/2011 Live FA Cup 4th round coverage, starting with commentary from Torquay v Crawley Town and featuring updates from all the aftenoon kick-offs. Might even take some headphones into the ground.
