Budleigh - Good post BUT - first I think you have given me a compliment by describing me as not antique but then immediately you ruin it all and I see that I am "bric-a-brac"! - still, what does that make you

You could always consider yourself 'vintage' or 'veteran'...

Lovely stuff about Antiques Roadshow, Leigh. I watched the first five minutes of the recent edition from Dartmouth. Fiona Bruce was wearing yellow if I remember correctly....

Tbh, I can't believe the AR is still going. Do the BBC still have Songs of Praise and Last of the Summer Wine on as well? Jesus wept.
And Coast? God, some great photography and interesting facts completely ruined by inane music and idiotic presenters (whether that bloke who looks and sounds like an extra from Braveheart, that imbecile with the umbrella and stupid voice or that annoying woman having orgasms about sand grains...)
Makes me glad I don't have a TV licence.

You'll be pleased to hear that the Times reported today that the BBC are set to drop F1 at the end of their current contract (the end of the 2013 season). Because it is so expensive (the most expensive programme the BBC broadcasts), they can cut it and use the money saved to keep BBC Four
Having said that, this is being reported by a paper owned by the same company that wants to own the commercial and broadcasting rights of the sport, though I doubt the rumours have no basis in reality
Of course, if F1 wants to have its cake and eat it by going PPV and/or selling out to that vile man and his son, then it's more than welcome to, but I won't be watching and I know a lot of other people that won't either

Creature of habit Barton - goods news about F1 eh! Did my Nick Crane bit this afternoon exploring the tip of Dawlish Warren. Could have done with Miranda to explain why the sand is being lost to Exmouth.

[I blame Buckle! the sand is making it's way to Bristol Bucks was partial to Dawlish Warren himself - I've seen him there having a stroll with Rebecca. And I've spotted that John Milton geezer too... They were probably there today tapping up Zebs on the dodgems and tempting him with a slab of bread pudding at the Red Rock cafe. The bounders!!
